Most people who enter reality competitions naturally want to be winners (whether the prize is love, money or both) but sometimes winning the way we thought we wanted is far from the only way to win.

The Bachelor SA runner-up, Bridget Marshall found her own Prince Charming after the show, and she said ‘I do’ recently!

Marshall was the runner-up and never got the final rose in the season finale with Marc Buckner. The season 2 runner-up had her fairy tale dreams shattered when she lost to Marisia van Wyk back in 2020 when the season was televised but little did she know that this was a blessing in disguise.

She later went on to meet Kobus de Kock, a former Rugby player who would become her now husband. The wedding announcement came out of the blue but fans were truly happy that she got her happily ever after. The two wed in August and Bridget stunned her guests in two breathtaking gowns.

In a recent Instagram post she shared that:

“The way I felt when my Bridal look came together – PRICELESS. My dream of what I wanted from when I was a little girl came to life.”

Her gorgeous gowns came from The Wedding Boutique and they couldn’t have done better at bringing out the natural beauty she already has. The couple wed in the picturesque valleys of Stellenbosch at a gorgeous wine estate. Friends, loved ones and fans on socials could not get enough of the images shared on Marshall’s Instagram.

SA’s Bachelorette Qiniso Van Damme said “LOVE YOUR DRESS!!!!!” and yes, she included 5 exclamation marks which only emphasises that this bride looked like an absolute princess.

We wish the couple all the best on their future together and many more fairy tale moments to come!

It’s been years in the making, but Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have finally tied the knot.

Sources close to the couple confirmed the news to People with court records indicating that the pair obtained a marriage license over the weekend in Clark County, Nevada.

The gorgeous couple shared the news of their engagement in April 2022 and are said to have said “I do” in a small ceremony.

“They just wanted to get married,” one source reportedly stated.

The news will undoubtedly overjoy romantics and die-hard Bennifer stans around the world. The Hollywood couple rekindled their iconic romance in 2021 with Lopez sharing her thoughts on why things are different 18 years later.

The star revealed to People: “We’re older now, we’re smarter, we have more experience, we’re at different places in our lives, we have kids now, and we have to be very conscious of those things.”

“We have been in the game in the public eye long enough to know who we are as people and what really matters and what doesn’t matter. We have kids and we respect each other. …”

AH! Congratulations to the newlyweds.

We may not all have our finger on the pulse of pop culture, but celebrity red carpet and wedding looks are a great form of inspiration. With your bridal glam look located on an already long list of to-dos, why not simplify things by allowing your favourite celebrity to be your muse.

We’ve rounded up 6 celebrities that have left us giddy with inspiration:

Dakota Johnson

The 50 shades of grey actress left us mesmerised with this romantic look. Keep things casual with a half-up, half-down hairstyle, while sporting a neutral makeup palette, rosy blush, a few subtle pink hues, and a beautiful bold lip.

You’re not looking for subtle, you’re looking for wow! If bold is what you’re after,  then opt for darker tones to help you get that beautiful vintage look. Select a bold smokey eye or let your lips be the star of the show and grab a softer shade for your eyes. Pair this glam look with old Hollywood waves and you’ll have a look that’s gorgeous for brides planning a winter wedding.

Adele

Who doesn’t want their makeup to look as gorgeous as Adeles? The songstress is famous for her winged eyeliner, a winner for many brides these days, but blend and layer your eyeshadow for a more glamorous look. Darker brows add a pop of colour while false eyelashes will have your soon-to-be husband swooning.

Leslie Rose

The Game of Thrones star looked like an angel on her wedding day, opting for natural makeup that let her gorgeous face do all the talking. A flower crown for that extra bit of magic and shades of pink for her cheeks and lips were the perfect combination.

Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra may have had multiple outfit changes during her three-day wedding to Nick Jonas, but the actress looked absolutely stunning in this bold and beautiful outfit at her Mumbai wedding reception. She paired her dark red lip with neutral eyeshadow for a bit of sultry romance. She finished the look with her locks flowing over her shoulders, but this look can be paired with an up-do.

Meghan Markle

She may not be the future queen of England, but Meghan Markle looked like an absolute queen on her wedding day. The royal rocked a natural look with a low chignon which was parted down the middle. Rosy lips, dewy skin and a headband fit for… well, a royal.

Classy, sophisticated, posh. All three of these words mean the exact same thing but somehow manage to individually encompass the essence of the always fabulous Beckhams.

In 1999, David and Victoria Beckham solidified their status as pop culture icons following their Robin Hood themed wedding. Fashionistas and brides-to-be around the world couldn’t get enough of Victoria’s tightly fitted corset by English corsetiere, Mr Pearl, a gorgeous piece that she wore under her ballgown.

Nearly two decades later and another Beckham appears to be inspiring future brides and grooms. In a lavish $3.5 million “modern fairytale” wedding, Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz said their “I dos” in front of family and friends in what many are describing as simply “magical.”

The ceremony was said to be a star-studded affair with Serena Williams and Eva Longoria making an appearance at the $103 million venue in Palm Beach, which happened to be billionaire Nelson Peltz’s (Nicola’s father) compound.

Along with the who’s who of the celebrity world, British Vogue had a front-row seat to the couple’s nuptials, sharing a plethora of snaps and noting: ‘It’s the stuff that modern fairytales are made of: a beautiful blonde film star meets a handsome young scion of one of Britain’s most famous – and fashionable – families, sparks fly, and a truly 21st-century romance unfolds.’

While there are many elements that make a wedding magical, all eyes were undoubtedly on Nicola’s custom-made Valentino wedding gown – a culmination of a years’ worth of conversations between the bride, Peltz’s stylist and the creative team at Valentino.

The result has been the blushing bride’s “dream dress” with countless snaps showcasing the sheer elegance of this masterpiece.

A cute little inclusion featured the bride’s dress is adorned with an evil eye symbol and included a message from her mother which the Valentino team stitched with blue thread – for that something blue.

The world was treated to new images of the newlyweds which came after Brooklyn uploaded the first shot from their wedding on Sunday, a black and white image of the pair that he captioned: ‘Mr. & Mrs Peltz Beckham.’

The images are breathtaking and ooze old Hollywood. However, Peltz appears to have taken some inspiration from the 90s with Vogue noting that the bride’s hair was styled as “an ode to Claudia Schiffer in the ‘90s.”

“It was all about keeping her hair beautiful, soft and smooth. ”Think luxe, polished texture, but with fullness and movement to it,” said Adir Abergel, Nicola’s hairstylist.

A natural look was chosen for the day and offered a fresh, natural look that was barely there but provided a few details that ensured her features would pop under the veil.

The result? A gorgeous bride, a magical day and a happy groom. Is there anything more perfect than that?

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sat down for a highly anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey and revealed more than a few bombshells about their relationship and the Royal Family. Among the shockers, they dropped that they secretly tied the knot before they walked down the aisle in front of the world.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex admitted to Oprah that they said I do’ to one another in private three days before their televised wedding on May 19, 2018. It was just the two of them and the Archbishop of Canterbury present for the secret nuptials.

Oprah had asked Meghan what she was excited about in their new life after they officially left the Royal family, and the Duchess replied, “Just being able to live authentically… it’s so basic but it’s really fulfilling.”

She continued, “I was thinking about it, you know our wedding—three days before our wedding, we got married. No one knows that. We called the Archbishop and we just said, look, this thing, this spectacle is for the world. But we want our union between us, so the vows that we have framed in our room are just the two of us in our backyard with the Archbishop of Canterbury.”

South Africans wanting to watch the bombshell interview can tune in to MNet at 7.30pm on Monday night.

There is no celebrity wedding dress more iconic than that of Princess Diana. With its puffy sleeves and insanely long train, it has gone down in history as possibly the most famous wedding dress to ever be made.

A little known fact is that Princess Diana had a secret backup dress made in case of emergencies. Wildly enough, this dress, which has never been seen by the public, is missing in action.

David and Elizabeth Emanuel designed the famous dress, as well as a second one in case anything were to happen to the original. This is a common practice for royal brides, especially when there is so much media attention around them.
However, the location of this second dress, which was only three-quarters of the way done, remains unknown almost 40 years later. Elizabeth Emanuel says she cannot remember what they did with the backup.

“I don’t know if we sold it or put it into storage,” the designer, Elizabeth Emanuel, told the Daily Mail in 2017. “It was such a busy time. I’m sure it’ll turn up in a bag one day!”
