A cake topper from Guns n Roses guitarist Slash’s wedding is currently for sale on eBay for $3000. The decoration reportedly features his actual hair.

The decor has been certified by Julien’s Auctions to be from Slash’s 2001 wedding to Perla Ferrar. Upon the couple’s divorce in 2018, the cake topper was given to the auction house.

“Lot 112 is a sculpted plastic wedding cake topper custom fitted with top hat, veil and hair to represent Slash and Perla,” reads the text. “We are herein stating in writing that when Perla Hudson cosigned this property to Julien’s Auctions, she indeed told us that the hair on the cake topper belonged to Slash.”

Many couples are no longer willing to wait for the nationwide lockdown to come to a close to have their wedding. Most are now opting for a livestream wedding, which allows their guests to attend their nuptials while safely social distancing.

If you’re one of those who are in love and eager to get your married life started, then perhaps you’re leaning towards a Zoom ceremony. But since this is one of the most common wedding trends these days, you’ll likely want to do something to ensure that yours stands out from the rest.

Here are some ways to make your livestream wedding special:

    Invite everyone

Since you no longer have to be held back by the finances that comes with inviting people, you’re now able to invite absolutely everyone. The more the merrier! You’ll feel extra special once you see how many people turn out for your special day.

Have everyone dress for the occassion

This includes you. Everyone should be in their very best attire (no sweats allowed!).  After all, it’s one of the most important days of your life. If everyone gets dressed up, it’ll truly feel like a celebration.

    Don’t skip the toasts

Your best man, maid of honour, and whoever else was going to give a toast should all still do so. Many people have slacked on the formalities on Zoom weddings, so to take it up a notch from the rest keep as much from the original plan as possible.

    Decorate

Create a pretty backdrop for your wedding. Light some candles, play some music, add some fairy lights, do as much as you can!

    Consider all platforms

Some couples who have used Zoom found that the free version only allows for 40 minutes before it times out. If you don’t want a forced intermission, consider paying for the full version or using a different platform.

Although her wedding to SNL writer Dave McCrary was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, Emma Stone’s latest appearance has many thinking she secretely tied the knot.

During an interview with Reese Witherspoon and psychiatriatrist Harold S. Koplewicz on the Reese Witherspoon x Hello Sunshine YouTube channel, the actresses discussed living with anxiety during the pandemic. Stone appeared wearing a wedding band that looks very different to her pearl engagement ring.

During the interview, Dr Koplewicz, who  speaks of associative mating and says, “If you marry an anxious man, you’re gonna have to know me the rest of my life.” Stone laughingly responds, “Thankfully I didn’t do that.”

Fans immediately began speculating that the pair secretly got married during quarantine.

Stone and McCrary announced thei engagment in December 2019. Stone’s vintage-inspired ring was designed by Tokyo-based designer Kataoka and features an eight-millimeter pearl at its center, surrounded by tiny diamonds.

A year ago, Joe Jonas and Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner said ‘I do’ in an impromptu Las Vegas ceremony after the Billboard Music Awards.

The pair married at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas in May 2019, in a ceremony officiated by an Elvis impersonator. During a video for GQ Magazine’s “Actually Me” series, Jonas reveals that the reason for this wedding was not that romantic.

Jonas explains that the pair needed to legally marry in the States, as they planned to tie the knot in a big wedding in the South of France later in 2019.

“So we thought it would be really fun to get all of our friends, invite them out (to Vegas), and do an impromptu wedding,” he explained. “And we actually had some people that I didn’t even know that well there.”

“Some people (in attendance) I am now closer with! Khalid was there! That was cool. And Diplo decided to livestream the whole thing.”

Following the spontaneous wedding, Jonas did land in a bit of trouble with his parents.

“My parents called me the next morning and they were like ‘Did you just get married?’ And I realised that I told everybody, but forgot to tell my parents. So, kids, make sure you tell your parents when you’re getting legally married!”

Zoom weddings and celebrations have been bringing people from all over the globe together. The trend has even managed to reunite the cast of popular TV show, The Office.

Actor John Krasinski, who played Jim on The Office, has a YouTube channel called Some Good News. The purpose of his channel to to spread positive stories from across the globe in order to show that even during the toughest of times there are still good things happening and people are showing how we all come together.

On this weeks episode of Some Good News, Krasinski showed off a newly engaged couple – Susan and John, from Maryland. John had proposed to Susan the same way Jim proposed to Pam in the TV show (outside a petrol station).

Of course, this warranted Krasinski to get the cast together for a celebration of this special engagement. Additionally, the couple had hoped that Krasinski would attend their wedding, since he inspired their proposal. This was Krasinski’s way of attending the wedding.

Taking it a step further, he enlisted the help of Jenna Fischer (who played Pam on the show) to be the maid of honour.

Members of the cast including Jenna Fischer, Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, Ed Helms, Mindy Kaling, B.J. Novak, Angela Kinsey, Brian Baumgartner, Phyllis Smith, Kate Flannery, Creed Bratton, Oscar Nunez and Ellie Kemper also came together to dance to Forever by Chris Brown. For fans of The Office, you’ll know that they did this at Jim and Pams wedding in the show!

While their marriage was not a fairytale, one of the most iconic weddings to date is that of Princess Diana and Prince Charles. From those puffy sleeves to that trailing train, Princess Diana made many memorable fashion moments with her bridal attire, influencing brides for decades to come.

In 1981, Lady Diana Spencer said “I do” to Prince Charles, making her a princess, both officially and in people hearts. The shoes she wore to walk down the aisle had a surpringly sweet hidden meaning.

For her big day, Princess Diana opted to wear flats. Celebrity accessories designer Clive Shilton explains that she did this so that she would not appear taller than her future husband, as they were the exact same height.

‘Her main concern was that she wouldn’t appear taller than Prince Charles, and because she was very tall – 5ft 10in – the shoes would have to have a low heel.’

The shoes were adorned with 500 sequins, over 100 seed pearls, satin and lace. The suede arches featured a sweet, romantic detail painted on them: the letters ‘C’ for Charles and ‘D’ for Diana, with a heart between them.

Other royals must have taken inspiration from Princess Diana since then. Megan Markle had fabric from the dress she wore on her first date with Prince Harry sewn onto her wedding gown, and her veil was embroidered with 53 flour and fauna to represent the Commonwealth countries. Kate Middleton’s wedding dress sleeves featuring floral embroidery representing the national emblems of England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

Weddings, like a whole lot of other industries, have been heavily affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Experts say it’s likely to continue to change as trends adapt to current affairs. It’s safe to say that most couples who planned to get married in 2020 either cancelled or postponed their weddings. Some might have pushed through to get married online or at home.

Couples who are looking to tie the knot next year, however, might also have to look into the best way to do that. Destination weddings, for example, might not be possible for a whole lot longer than we think, as well as honeymoons abroad.

One wedding trend that’s been around for years but has recently become the go-to is the micro-wedding. That’s because some countries like the US and Sweden have not gone into lockdown, but are under social distancing regulations which mean they may move around freely but certain rules apply. Hence, those who got married had to scale down.

Micro-weddings have many benefits, and we believe it’s only going to get more popular. Here’s why.

    It’s cost-effective

It’s simple math: the more guests, the more expenses. Having a small gathering of 10 to 20 guests means cheaper catering. A smaller venue means less decor, and so it goes on. After the coronavius crippled the world economy, many couples might seek to save a few bucks and this is the perfect way.

    It’s more intimate

Having to single out only your closest family members or friends will ensure that the event is more meaningful and intimate. You will have time to hang out with everyone individually, and create special memories with the people that really matter.

    Fewer practical arrangements

This is a big one for many brides who plan their own weddings. Everyone knows how stressful all the arrangements can be, and more often than not, things go wrong. With fewer people comes less responsibility, and you’ll have more time to just relax and enjoy the time leading up to the wedding.

    It’s less pressure

Modern society can easily turn into a situation where everything is a competition. Every couple tries to outshine the next and expectations from others can put a lot of pressure on the couple. Micro-weddings shift the focus back where it belongs: on the couple who want to celebrate their love.
