Who knew a post on a public Facebook page could change your life? For one couple, their love story began from one simple picture on the popular I’m Staying Facebook group.

Isaiah Samoan-Joe Harry and Sinead Gabagas first met online when Isaiah shared a selfie to the I’m Staying Facebook group. Sinead was one of many who responded positively to the image, leaving a nice comment. She must have liked what she saw, because Sinead quickly sent Isiah a friend request, which he happily accepted. Isaiah took it even further by sending her a bold direct message, saying “Your name sounds better with my surname next to it”.

The pair quickly grew close, messaging each other until the early hours of the morning and speaking on the phone. At the time, however, Sinead was in hospital in Pietermaritzburg and Isaiah lived in Pretoria. They decided it was time to meet up in early Februrary, and Sinead travelled down to meet her mystery man for the first time.

Luckily, their first time meeting in person couldn’t have gone better. They were inseparable, and the one-week trip turned into two weeks. When the time came for her Sinead to go back home, Isaiah decided to make a grand romantic gesture. He went down on one knee and proposed, and of course, she said yes!

Isaiah an Sinead plan to marry in September this year. Congrats to the happy couple!

“Under the sea / Under the sea / Darling it’s better / Down where it’s wetter / Take it from me”. Who knew the lyrics from ‘Under the sea’ could be taken so literally? This couple love being underwater so much, they got engaged in the Caribbean Sea!

Ethan Studenic and Morgan Whittaker are passionate scuba divers, so naturally Studenic wanted to extend this love by literally popping the question under water. He spent 5 years planning out this elaborate proposal to his girlfriend of 10 years to make sure its nothing short of perfect. He proposed during a scuba diving excursion at the Caribbean island of Bonaire, where the couple spent their very first holiday together.

“Five years ago, I had the idea of an underwater proposal. I thought it would be cool, really unique and interesting,” Studenic told Fox News. “I decided to propose on the first reef we dove together.”

“I wanted it to be a romantic proposal and I’m not the greatest at that kind of thing,” Studenic said. “I thought if I could go back to Bonaire, I could recapture that magic of our first vacation away together.”

Studenic had seaglass saved from their first Bonaire trip embedded into the engagement ring, which he kept hidden inside a seashell.

For the big moment, the couple swam down for a good spot, and Studenic pretended to find a seashell. The words “Will you marry me” were written inside the shell. Of course, Whittaker said yes!

Watch the video of their proposal below:

“I was pretty shocked,” Whittaker remembered. “When he first reached down, I honestly thought he was picking up a wild animal.

“When he was opening up the shell I was seriously worried and then I just sat there in total shock. I said absolutely yes.”

“Ethan introduced me to scuba diving and it is one of the things we love most in the whole world so it was wonderful to have the proposal in that setting,” she added.

The couple plan to officially tie the knot in April, and its sure to be amazing.

“I wanna make you smile whenever you’re sad / Carry you around when your arthritis is bad / All I wanna do is grow old with you.” These iconic lyrics from The Wedding Singer’s proposal scene have gone down in history, much loved by people the world over. This couple loved the movie so much that the man decided to recreate the moment for their very own proposal.

Fun-loving couple Jason and Chantel are huge fans of The Wedding Singer. So much so that Jason got in contact with the people at American airline United Airlines to recreate the famous proposal scene to pop the big question himself.

Pretending to go to the bathroom while on flight, Jason instead goes to the loudspeaker where he begins singing the song from the film. He then walks down the aisle, guitar in hand, to serenade his future bride.

In today’s times, you have to be creative with your proposal. This guy decided to go over-the-top, literally, with his proposal and sent an engagement ring to space.

Capt. Stuart Shippee of the 393rd Bomb Squadron at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, popped the big question to his girlfriend Marie Lisman in a very creative way by launching a weather balloon into space with a decoy engagement ring attached to it. Lisman thought they were sending a military challenge coin up with the balloon, but Shippee swopped it for a ring at the last moment.

The ring travelled a far distance, reaching a height of over 90 000 feet, about three times the cruising altitude of a 747, before bursting and plummeting back to Earth. The balloon landed in a nearby cornfield and once the group found the ring, Shippee went down on one knee with the real ring. Of course, Lisman said yes!

“When I first picked up the balloon payload, I did not see the imitation ring until I looked down and [Shippee] was on his knee,” Lisman told Military.com. “I was speechless! After the long day and difficult search for the payload I was very happy to have the ending be so special.”

Proposals are always meaningful, and it’s great to have a photographer capture that special moment. But what if Google is your photographer? One German man was surprised to discover that his epic proposal was caught on Google Maps.

32-year-old part-time farmer Steffen Schwarz proposed to his partner last May with a dramatic proposal that involved a public message and drones. Schwartz used a corn-planting machine to write a message into his two-hectare (five-acre) field in Huettenberg, central Germany that would be visible aerially. The message read “Will you marry me?” in German. Schwartz then had his girlfriend fly a drone over the field to read the message. Of course, she said yes.

“At first she couldn’t see it [the proposal] because the drone wasn’t flying high enough. But when she realised, she said yes immediately,” Schwartz told German news agency DPA.

The story would have ended there if it weren’t for Schwartz’s aunt. His relative was on Google Maps and happened to come across an image of Schwartz’s proposal!

The couple plan to marry in June 2020, and will once again pull out their drone for some epic photography.

After weeks of speculation, the Royal Family have officially announced that Princess Beatrice will hold her wedding reception at Buckingham Palace in May this year.

Princess Beatrice of York and her fiance Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi will say ‘I do’ on Friday, May 29 2020 at The Chapel Royal, St. James Palace.

“Her Majesty The Queen has kindly given permission for the ceremony to take place at The Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace,” reads a statement from Buckingham Palace. “The ceremony will be followed by a private reception, given by The Queen, in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.”

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi join other royals to marry in St James Chapel such as Queen Victoria to Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg on 10 February 1840 and the then Duke of York and Princess Victoria Mary of Teck (later King George V and Queen Mary) in 1893.

The wedding is most likely to be more low-key than other royal weddings. Both BBC and ITV have decided not to live broadcast the wedding as a result of the controversy surrounding her father, Prince Andrew.

An engagement is an exciting time in a couples life, and naturally, others would want to celebrate along with them. This…entrepreneurial couple decided to capitalise on this by faking a proposal for free drinks.

One month into their relationship, Corinne Miller and Adam Carroll went on a trip to Atlanta, Georgia. While at a bar, the pair decided on the spot to prank the crowd by having Carroll go down on one knee. They even planned the prank with a bartender and fellow bar-goer. They could barely keep their faces straight as they went through with the prank.

Luckily for this couple, it worked! The entire bar erupted with cheers, and throughout the evening strangers bought the pair drinks to celebrate.

“People started buying us shots and congratulating us- it was hilarious and definitely a great way to get free drinks.”

Six months later, the couple become engaged for real.

“It has definitely been a whirlwind romance. We were best friends for eight years before we were a couple and that trip to Atlanta was actually one of the first trips we had been on together.”

Of the prank, Miller says she enjoyed it.

“I’m happy we did it – it definitely saved us some cash so Adam could get me a real engagement ring!”

Talk about a cheesy proposal! Popular restaurant chain Domino’s is giving one lucky Australian patron the chance to win a pizza-shaped engagement ring to the value of $9,000 (R133 398).

Domino’s Australia recognises that pizza is such a big part of relationships, so it makes sense this Italian treat would feature in an engagement.

“How many great love stories have started over a slice? How many awkward dates have been saved by the arrival of the pizza delivery?” Domino’s Chief Marketing Officer Allan Collins explains. “Pizza is made to be shared with the ones we love, so this year we want to honour that with something really special and help create the greatest, if not the cheesiest, proposal ever.”

The ring up for grabs is made of 18-carat yellow and white gold and features a pizza slice on top of it made out of ‘cheese’ and ‘pepperoni’ rubies.

To stand the chance to win the ring, customers must submit a 30-second video on their official contest page explaining how they would involve pizza in their proposal.

We’re only one month into 2020, and we have yet another celebrity engagement! Model Jourdan Dunn took to Instagram to announce her engagement to rap artist and streetwear label owner Dion “Sincere” Hamilton.

The model shared a playful picture covering her eyes and letting her new bling take centre stage. She captioned the image, “Jourdan Dunn Hamilton ……. has a nice ring to it! ????”

    https://www.instagram.com/p/B8CJUcXFNYu/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

Andrew Brown, WP Diamonds CEO, estimated the ring to be worth £22,000 (R432, 965)

“The ring on Jourdan Dunn’s engagement finger looks to be a 2ct oval with a large halo and diamond band. A nice colour clarity combination of G VS would retail for around £22,000.”

The pair began dating in 2019. Dunn is notoriously private about her relationship with Hamilton, and the only picture the couple have together covers Hamilton’s face.
