The retired professional wrestler said ‘I do’ to Lauren Hashian on August 18th, 2019 in Hawaii. They met while Dwayne was filming The Game Plan (2007) in 2006. Dwayne looked dashing in a white ensemble and, ofcourse, a lei. His singer-songwriter bride wore an elegant lace wedding dress.
Dwayne announced the nuptials on Instagram on August 19, 2019.
Dwayne is one of the highest grossing box office actors of all time. He has starred in movies like The Other Guys (2010), Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) and has reprised his role as Luke Hobbs in the Fast and the Furious franchise.
On August 10, 2019 international singer Miley Cyrus’s rep released a statement confirming her split with actor husband, Liam Hemsworth. The statement revealed they both have decided to focus on themselves and careers, and have decided to separate to do so. This after less than a year of marriage. The couple wed in a private wedding with their nearest and dearest on December 23, 2018.
Social media exploded with the news, some sympathising, others criticising.
Before you grab your tissues and binge watching The Last Song (2010) – where the couple fell in love – there may not be a divorce after all. Neither of them are in any rush to file for it and based on their past issues and break ups there may be hope for the couple to reconcile.
The couple got engaged in 2012 and broke up in 2013. They rekindled their love in 2015 and were re-engaged in October 2016.
The rumours began after pictures emerged of Miley getting intimate with Kaitlynn Carter while on vacation in Italy. Kaitlynn recently split from husband Brody Jenner.
Fans are convinced the split was because of a difference in opinions when it comes to relationship basics. Miley has stated that she doesn’t fit into a stereotypical wife role. Even though she is married, she is still attracted to women.
The couple have managed to overcome issues before and may be able to again. We’re rooting for you!
American socialite Amanda Hearst and Norwegian film director Joachim Rønning had a four day nuptial celebration. The wedding ceremony took place on August 2, 2019. The romantic love affair was held in California at the Hearst Castle. Amanda is the great-granddaughter of American publishing mogul William Randolph Hearst, and Joachim is known for directing Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017) and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019).
Micaela Erlanger was Amanda’s stylist for the big weekend. The rehearsal dinner entailed a Viktor and Rolf Soir dress, which was a beautiful white garment that was paired with a Judith Leiber Crystal Castle clutch and Sergio Rossi shoes.
Amanda wore an Oscar de la Renta gown for the ceremony. The bride requested that her gown be completely sustainable. This meant that nothing was imported or specially requested and all materials were sourced locally or taken from the designer’s own supplies. Even the boning of the dress was reused as it was taken from a previous gown. The silk was bought from the Taroni mill, which the Green Carpet Fashion Awards in 2017 announced as their ‘sustainable producer’ winner.
After the ‘I dos’ Amanda slipped into a Galvan halter dress for the reception. To end off the night, she wore a Giambattista Valli couture dress, and on Saturday Amanda turned heads with yet another Oscar de la Renta dress.
The Moroccan-themed reception included caviar, champagne and a traditional white wedding cake. Their guest list included Paris and Nicky Hilton, Jay McInerney, Kick Kennedy and Candace Bushnell. They indulged next to the famous Hearst Castle pool.
Amanda and Joachim didn’t have a typical and ordinary rehearsal dinner though. To incorporate a bit of Norwegian flair on the day, guests were encouraged to visit a reindeer that had a special invitation to the party.
The Hearst Castle wasn’t just any venue for the happy couple. The castle was partly designed and conceptualised by Amanda’s great grandfather, William Randolph Hearst. The estate is a national historic landmark and belongs to the state of California.
Leona and her longterm boyfriend Dennis married on July 27 in Tuscany. The wedding was held at Sting’s Italian residence Villa Il Palagio. The happy couple shared their beautiful nuptials with 180 loved ones which included Keisha Buchanan and Jermain Jackman.
They explained that they chose Sting’s residence because of the homely feel. Villa Il Palagio is a 16th century style estate and has been owned by Sting and his wife Trudie Styler since 1997. It features 865 acres, a giant chessboard, outdoor pool, olive and orange trees and cypress-lined driveway. The reception was held in Sting’s recording studio.

Leona had three outfits for her big day. For the ceremony she wore a sheer full-length white dress that was designed by Israeli designer Mira Zwillinger. The stunning gown featured a lace bodice with floral embroidery and mesh detail. Her dinner outfit included a pink embellished tulle gown. Finally she wore a crystal jumpsuit to party the night away.
Leona and Dennis had a vegan menu along with a wedding cake. The cake was made by Sicilian dessert stylist and pastry chef Marco Failla. He created a tiered millefeuille cake that was finished with fresh berries, flowers and 24k gold leaf. The millefeuille also included Sicilian caramelized almonds and salted dark chocolate cream.
The love birds met in 2010 on Leona’s Labyrinth tour where Dennis Jauch was a backup dancer.
On July 28, 2019 social media influencers Jake Paul and Tana Mongeau headed to Las Vegas for their grand wedding. Fans were given the opportunity to live stream the wedding for $50 (R745) fee. The influencers gathered an audience of 66 000 people. The first issue popped up with the masses complained that the quality of the stream was terrible, shaky and the video lagged.
Before you start calculating what 50 times 66 000 is, those who requested a refund were reimbursed. The wedding was reported to be 10 minutes long and included a fight that seemed a bit too staged to be true.
Influencers have to constantly come up with fresh and exciting content to maintain their following. Audiences follow them for a good laugh, tips on various things or just because they genuinely enjoy keeping up with they exciting lives.
Jake and Tana took the influencer game to the next level. They sparked rumours about dating in April 2019 when the pair were spending a lot of time together and featured extensively on each others social media accounts. Tana created a lot of hype around her 21st birthday and a YouTube reality series MTV’s No Filter: Tana Turns 21 premiered two weeks after her birthday detailing the event.
Jake proposed to Tana at the big birthday bash. Many believed that the proposal was just a publicity stunt but the the influential couple went ahead and then shared their engagement photoshoot snaps.
A recent episode aired and featured Tana admitting it was all a publicity stunt. It was implied that the whole affair was for the content. She took to twitter to defend herself, explaining that those things were said long before the wedding and it was edited out of context.
confessionals for the show A LONG TIME AGO! the “for fun and content” sound bite was from a very long sentence lmao and was a little salty to see it pulled out of context.. i understand though that MTV has their own creative & that these episodes are airing very late, especially

The wedding between Prince Charles and Lady Diana was anything but happily ever after. To the avid royal follower, it was nothing short of a fairytale. From her dreamy ivory silk taffeta and antique lace gown, to her impressive 7.62m train and a 1.4m tulle veil – it was picture-perfect.
What most didn’t know is that there were a string of unfortunate incidents throughout the day – even a princess has mishaps on her special day. Here are a few rather interesting things that didn’t go according to plan.
Princess Diana Spilled perfume on the front of her dress. Picture: Fox Photos/Getty Images
1.Spilled perfume
After Diana put her gown on she tried to dab some perfume onto her pulse points and mistakenly dropped the bottle on her dress. According to her makeup artist, Barbara Daly, the signature scent created especially for her big day spilled down the front of the wedding gown. Daly tried frantically to wipe the dress but it left a large stain behind. The best advice Daly could give the princess was to hold the dress where the scent had spilled and pretend as though she is lifting it up to avoid tripping over it. Luckily, no one even noticed.
2. The tiny carriage wrinkled her dress
The ideal arrival is a horse-drawn carriage… unless you are wearing a massive ballgown with a 7.6m train and big puffy sleeves, of course. Lady Diana and her father John Spencer were transported to St Paul’s Cathedral in the Queen’s ceremonial glass coach. While very beautiful, the carriage is also rather small. When Diana hopped out of the carriage, her dress and train was noticeably creased. Alas, she had to walk down the aisle all a little wrinkled.
3. Getting married was a headache
Quite literally, according to Charles Spence, Diana’s brother, she had a massive headache the entire day because of the heavy tiara. While it is tradition to wear one of the Queen’s tiaras, Diana instead opted for a Spencer family heirloom, which weighed heavily on her head.
4. The wrong name
All of England loved her for it – when it came time to recite her vows at the alter, in front of the entire world watching, Diana mistakenly called the Prince, “Philip Charles” Arthur George, instead of “Charles Philip” Arthur George. A tongue twister of note, and with so many people watching, all was forgiven.
5. Charles returned the favour
Charles laughed off Diana’s faux pax, then returned the favour. While reciting his vows to her, he ‘accidentally’ changed the wording – instead of “my worldly goods,” he said “thy goods”.
The lesson from all of these missteps? Some things will always go wrong – even fairytales don’t have it all together.
Cody Williams, the youngest child of the late and great Robin Williams, honoured his father by getting married on Robin’s birthday, July 21. The beloved comedian and actor would have been 68. Cody married his long-time sweetheart Maria Flores at his childhood home.
Yellow roses were held before a lit candle in remembrance of Robin and other late loved ones.
Cody’s sister Zelda shared the news over Instagram in a post in which she explained why July 21 is such a meaningful date for her. She stated that this date was also the last time she saw her dad before his passing. It became a tough day to remember but with the nuptials of her younger brother, it has brought a new, joyous meaning.
Robin Williams took his own life on August 11, 2014. The actor was known for his roles in Good Morning, Vietnam (1987), Dead Poets Society (1989), Aladdin (1992), and Mrs Doubtfire (1993).

Louis Ducruet, grandson of legendary Princess of Monaco Grace Kelly, wed Marie Chevallier in an elaborate ceremony this weekend. The happy couple had a two-day wedding celebration that starting on July 26 in Monaco. The first day involved a civil ceremony and the matrimonial occasion was conducted by Mayor of Monaco, Georges Marsan. The couple celebrated in the gardens at the Prince’s Palace.
The lovebirds paid tribute to his royal grandparents by having their religious ceremony at the same cathedral in which they were married. They had their second nuptials at The Cathedral of Our Lady Immaculate. Rainier III, Prince of Monaco and Grace Kelly wed there 60 years prior. They also visited the graves of his famous ancestors and placed flowers.
Louis and Marie met at university and were engaged on February 12, 2018. Marie had three special outfits for her wedding weekend. She opted for an ivory jumpsuit designed by Rosa Clará for the civil ceremony. The jumpsuit comprised of a silk crepe culotte and the waist was embroidered with lace.

After the religious ceremony, the bride changed into her third outfit. She opted for another Rosa Clará design. This time a lace dress with a deep neckline and a short hemline under an embroidered overskirt. The outfit was a short but sophisticated.
Most brides would give their right and left arm to be able to wear an Elie Saab original on their wedding day. To be able to adorn four of his gowns in one wedding is unheard of unless you marry his son of course. The Lebanese fashion designer’s son Elie Saab Jr married Christina Mourad on July 19 in an elaborate weekend-long affair. The three-day celebration took place in Lebanon and his new daughter-in-law had the privilege of wearing four Elie Saab gowns. Two were custom made just for her special day and the other two were part of his Haute Couture collection.
The pre-party celebrations had Mourad in a Haute Couture themed Fall-winter jumpsuit from the 2019/2020 collection.
For the wedding ceremony she wore a one-of-a-kind Elie Saab gown. The dress was made from ivory silk and included 500,000 sequins. It featured a high neck bodice along with a 4.5-metre train.
The special ceremony was held at Bkerké and the aisle was decorated with candles and lots of greenery. Neiman Azzi was the planner-extraordinaire behind the joyous occasion.
The beautiful bride changed into a second Haute Couture gown for the reception. A heart-shaped corset featuring a full skirt. This train was only 3.5-metres long. It was adorned with 650,000 sequins and 150,000 Swarovski Strass pieces.
The festivities were held in the mountain resort of Faqra in Lebanon and the guest list included Dita Von Teese, Sara Sampaio, and Lebanon’s Prime Minister Saad Hariri. The venue was transformed into a magical experience – table tops were covered with mirrors and the space included a massive moon sculpture.
To end off their lavish wedding weekend, Christina wore a beautiful dress from the Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2019 collection. It included a coral-shaped brooch from her father-in-law.
Their after wedding day party was held at Elie Saab’s home in Lebanon.
Both dresses took almost 900 hours to make. It also took 200 hours to tailor, 150 hours of draping, 450 hours of embroidery and 80 hours for the embroidery design. They employed a total of six tailors, three pattern makers, twelve embroiders and ten petite mains to get the gowns ready in time.
