After being left at the altar, Kenny Barnes has found love again. The ‘Love is Blind’ star recently popped the question to girlfriend Alexandra Garrison.

He proposed on August 7 at the Duke Mansion in Charlotte, North Carolina. His original plan to propose at the Biltmore Estate where they had their first date fell through due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Barnes took to Instagram to announce their engagement.

“Fiancé has a nice ring to it…Alexandra and I are excited to announce our engagement! To all of our friends, family and acquaintances, thank you for the continued love and support – we appreciate everyone and cannot wait to celebrate this next step together,” he wrote.

Barnes and Garrison have been dating a little over a year, and they met after he appeared on the Netflix dating series. His younger sister Anna introduced the pair.

“Alexandra and Anna had been friends for nearly three years while living in Charlotte and when I came to town to help move Anna, I met Alexandra at the brewery, Wooden Robot,” Barnes tells People.

“What’s funny is that there was apparently an ‘inside joke’ among their friends that Alexandra should date me. Alexandra knew who I was during that entire three-year period, but since we lived in separate cities and had never met, there was never an opportunity to entertain anything.”

Barnes knew she was the one from an early stage.

“There are definitely moments in the early stages of our relationship where the thought crossed my mind, but the moment that sticks out most is when she and I stayed up looking at the stars during a summertime trip to Lake Gaston,” he tells Peopls. “We talked for at least six hours and ended up falling asleep on the couch upstairs. It was then that I knew we were on the same page and that we were meant to be.”

Barnes was famously engaged to costar Kelly Chase on the Netflix reality show Love is Blind, where participants had to build a romantic connection with someone without ever seeing them in person. Barnes and Chase seemingly fell in love before physically meeting and became engaged.
However, once they met and began to live life as a couple, cracks began to appear. In the show’s finale, Chase said “I don’t” and left Barnes at the altar.

It’s ok, Kelly, we’re pretty emotional too!

Reflecting on his time on the show, Barnes says it was a necessary learning experience.

“It was physically and emotionally draining but allowed me to become more in tune with myself and what I wanted in a partner. The most important thing I learned was how to honor and love the things that truly make me happy. To take those things and, instead of catering to someone out of convenience, find someone that truly has your best interest in mind to share it with.”

Lady Amelia Spencer, the daughter of Earl Spencer and niece of Princess Diana, is engaged to be married. The cousin to Prince William and Harry said ‘yes’ to her university sweetheart, Greg Mallett on July 22.

Amelia grew up in the country along with siblings Lady Eliza Spencer, Louis Spencer Viscount Althorp and Lady Kitty Spencer, who is engaged to South African-born Michael Lewis, the chairperson of Foschini Ltd.

She met Mallett at the University of Cape Town, where they were both students. They have been together for 11 years.

Mallett popped the question at the Clouds Wine & Guest Estate in Stellenbosch.

“So this was the best day of my life. 22nd of July 2020, I asked the love of my life to spend the rest of her life with me and she said YES. Couldn’t be happier and I love you with all my heart @ameliaspencer15,” wrote Mallett on Instagram.

Songstress Demi Lovato shocked fans when she announced she recently became engaged to actor Max Ehrich. She has shared even more details of their special proposal, and we dare you not to cry…

Ehrich went down on one knee to propose to Lovato on July 22 in Malibu, California. They have both taken to Instagram to write emotional messages to one another to honour their engagement.

“When I was a little girl, my birth dad always called me his ‘little partner’ – something that might’ve sounded strange without his southern cowboy like accent. To me it made perfect sense. And today that word makes perfect sense again but today I’m officially going to be someone else’s partner,” Lovato wrote on Instagram when sharing the news of their proposal.

@maxehrich – I knew I loved you the moment I met you. It was something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand but luckily you did too… I’ve never felt so unconditionally loved by someone in my life (other than my parents) flaws and all. You never pressure me to be anything other than myself. And you make me want to be the best version of myself. I’m honored to accept your hand in marriage. I love you more than a caption could express but I’m ecstatic to start a family and life with you. I love you forever my baby. My partner. Here’s to our future!!!!”

Ehrish shared the same pictures and wrote, “You are every love song, every film, every lyric, every poem, everything I could ever dream of and then some in a partner in life. Words cannot express how infinitely in love with you I am forever and always and then some. I cannot spend another second of my time here on Earth without the miracle of having you as my wife. here’s to forever baby ? ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh jeuejfjqjweuvu I’m so excited, you are the most beautiful inside and out in the entire world & I couldn’t be more grateful God brought us together. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH @ddlovato AND WILL FOREVER CHERISH YOUR PURE, BEAUTIFUL, INFINITE SOUL.”

Since the announcement, both Lovato and Ehrich have shared more images from their special moment, which Lovato called the best day of her life. Ehrich had her keep her eyes closed as they drove to the beach where he would propose. As he popped the question, “Crash Into Me” by Dave Matthews Band was playing.

Two days after their proposal was the two-year anniversary of what Lovato calls her ‘miracle day’, marking the day doctors saved her life after she suffered from a drug overdose in 2018.

“Only two years after that terrible day, I’m engaged to the love of my life, and I can genuinely say I feel free of my demons,” she wrote on Instagram. “I never thought this feeling was possible. And it’s not because I fell in love (although that didn’t hurt), but because over the past two years, I’ve done more work on myself than I have in my entire life.”

“Long before I had an engagement ring on my finger, I had the word ‘me’ to remind myself that no matter what, I vow to love myself. You can’t fully love another without loving yourself first.”

Congrats to the happy couple!

Alex Guarnaschelli, the no-nonsense chef and Food Network star who rose to fame as a judge on cooking competition Chopped, is newly engaged to partner Michael Castellon.

Castellon, who is also a chef, prosed on Guarnaschelli’s 48th birthday. They were having a socially distanced get-together with some friends to celebrate, and the pair drove to the store for more supplies. On their way back, Castellon suddenly pulled the car over.

“So we were right by my house and he just pulled over on the side of the road anxiously. And he said, ‘I see a dog running around’,” Guarnaschelli tells People. “There’s this little park with a windmill. He like, ‘I see a dog running around in there without a leash.’ ”

He got out the car to inspect, then came back to tell Guarnaschelli it’s a baby deer and she needs to see it.

“So he’s like, ‘Shh. Come see it. It’s so cute.’ And I’m like, ‘We’re going to have to do something. We’re going to have to call the animal welfare.’ I’m already rolodexing the situation,” Guarnaschelli explains to People. “We tiptoe out, full-on tiptoe, and he goes, ‘It’s right around the windmill.’ So I look and he’s like, ‘Do you see it?’ And I’m like, ‘No, where’s the baby? You promised me a baby deer’.”

“And he goes, ‘There’s no deer.’ I turn, and I look and he’s on one knee. He’s like, ‘This is why I have to marry you because you just believe me every time.’ He said, ‘Will you marry me?’ and he gave me the ring.”

The ring, featuring a stunning emerald rock, is a family heirloom.

The pair have been together for four years. The professional chef and TV personality took to Instagram on Saturday, June 20, to announce the big news.

The bride-to-be told People Magazine that they are in no rush to marry, but she plans to go big.

“We’re not in any hurry, but I want to have a blowout,” she said. “I want a tri-state rager.”

With the coronavirus pandemic, many couples are being forced to postpone their big days. While it is disappointing, this couple decided to look on the bright side and have a little fun by posing for a ‘postponement ‘shoot.

Kim Henrickson and her partner David Woolston were set to marry in June 2020 but had to postpone their wedding to October amid the coronavirus. To announce their new date, they planned a tounge-in-cheek shoot filled with coronavirus-themed props like toilet paper and Corona beer. Their photographer was Brisbane-based Edwina Kate.

They made sure to go to an isolated part of a park, and had their photographer shoot with a long lens so that they did not break social distancing rules.

“We thought we’d take some photos and put them out there just to bring some smiles to people’s faces,” Henrickson tells 9Honey.

“It’s such a depressing decision to postpone our wedding, but we needed to make something positive out of it.”

After Kim shared the images to Facebook, she got overwhelming support from her family and friends.

“People kept telling us it was such a great idea and a nice way to turn a negative into a positive,” Herickson says, adding, “I didn’t realise how many other couples are going through what we’re going through at the moment.”

The birth of your first child is a pretty special moment, what could possibly make it better? Well, how about a marriage proposal? That was this new dad’s exact thinking when he decided to involve their newborn baby in his adorable proposal.

Scott Gretton and Rachel Taylor from Hartlepool in England welcomed baby boy Oscar into the world on Tuesday, March 31 after a gruelling 25-hour labour.

While Scott was there for the birth, he was not allowed to stay due to strict COVID-19 measures in place. He returned the next day and secretly plotted with the midwives to dress baby Oscar in a custom-made babygrow that read, “Mammy, will you marry my daddy?”

Speaking to the Hartlepool Mail, Scott explained, “I have discussed with Rachel about proposing before – I’d bought a ring a couple of weeks ago and got two yeses from her family so I was ready.

“I’m not sure she expected me to ask the question while she was still in the delivery unit though!

“Luckily it all worked out – she saw the message and said yes!”

“I’m so grateful to all of the maternity team. The care was second to none and the midwives were so helpful setting up the big surprise.”

With many of us practicing self-isolation at home, we’ve got lots of time on our hands to bingewatch a show or two (or 10!) One of thees binge-worthy shows has inspired a proposal.

Greg Teatom proposed to girlfriend Jillian Barnett in a unique manner inspired by hit Netflix show Love is Blind.

While practicing social distancing, Greg and Jillian stayed home and watched the popular tv show. Greg then suggested they reenact the show by pretending to be on a blind date of their own.

With Jillian isolated in another room, Greg prepped to pop the big question. After some small talk, as the couples on the show have, Greg asked Jillian, “What if I told you that you’re the love of my life, and I wouldn’t want to spend it with anyone else?” he asked. “What would you say to that?”

As Jillian exits the separate room, she is shocked to discover Greg down on one knee. Of course, she said yes!

Jillian shared the sweet moment to her Instagram page, writing, “After a few days of being stuck in the house & watching too many episodes of @loveisblindnetflix Greg said “let’s pretend we are in the pods on a blind date!” Little did I know he was on the other side preparing to propose! Safe to say I was in complete shock! I love you so much my love! I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you! – Even if we are never allowed to leave the house again! ???? #loveisblind #loveinthetimeofcorona @greg_teatom

With the coronavirus sweeping through almost every nation, strict restrictions are in place to keep those who are most vulnerable safe. The elderly are one of the most at risk groups. This Lake Waccamaw woman made the best of a difficult situation, and managed to give her grandfather some good news despite visitor restrictions at his care facility.

The recently engaged Carly Boyd desperately wanted to share her good news with her grandfather. Since visitors are not allowed at the care facility where he resides, she had to find her way around the restrictions. The result, caught on camera by the facility’s administrator, Gennie Parnell, was truly heartwarming.

Boyd stood at her grandfather’s window and showed off her engagement ring. She and her grandfather then touched hands against the glass of the window.

“Even though visitation is restricted at this time, staff suggested an alternative,” said Premier Living & Rehab Center (the facility where Boyd’s grandfather resides) in a Facebook post.

“Emotional and memorable, for sure!! Thank you for allowing us to capture this special moment!!,” they added.

The bride-to-be is a student at Southeastern Community College, she is in pursuit of a qualification to become a Registered Nurse. Trevor Sellers, her fiance, is a contractor with the Department of Transportation. Hopefully this happy couple will have a chance to properly celebrate with Boyd’s grandfather soon!

In the meantime, however, the Community Activity Coordinator at the facility, April Bass, says that they are working hard to make sure residents still have contact with relatives.

Congrats to the happy couple, and the proud grandfather!
