Celebs who have officiated at other famous people’s weddings

Your marriage officer is an important part of your big day. After all, they’re the ones who make it all legal! It’s not unusual to ask a close family member or friend to officiate a wedding day, as in some parts of the world it’s quite easy to become an ordained minister.

When you’re famous, it just makes sense to have a fellow star officiate your big day. Here are the celebrities who have stepped into this prestigious role for their Tinseltown mates.

Adele

Musician Adele put her smooth voice to another use and officiated the wedding of her best friend, comedian Alan Carr and his partner Paul Drayton back in 2018. She also served as entertainment for the day and serenaded the wedding party.

“We’ve known her for ages, and when we told her we were getting married, she said, ‘Can I please plan the whole day for you?’” Carr said. “She organized everything. She’s the most kindest, sweetest, most generous person ever.”

Kris JennerIt seems there is nothing Kris Jenner cannot do. The mogul has officiated multiple weddings, including best friend and “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Faye Resnick to Everett Jack Jr., as well as the wedding of The Vampire Diaries star Colton Haynes and Jeff Leatham in 2017.

Tom Hanks

All-around good guy Tom Hanks officiated the wedding of Get Out actress Allison Williams and Ricky Van Veen. At the time, Hanks’ wife Rita Wilson played Williams’s mother on the show ‘Girls’ and was already involved as a performer on the big day. Williams made it a family affair by asking Hanks to officiate.

Jonah Hill

Actor Jonah Hill officiated the superstar wedding of Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo back in 2014. The pair were childhood best friends and remained close in their adulthood.

“Jonah was hysterical. He was telling so many jokes, but then in the middle would be so sweet and sincere,” a guest told E! News.

Jimmy KimmelJimmy Kimmel put his hosting duties to good use and officiated not one but two celebrity weddings. First, he officiated Matt Damon and wife Luciana Barroso’s vow renewal in 2013, then he married Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux in 2015.

Ian McKellan

The X-Men star officiated the wedding of a close friend and fellow actor Patrick Stewart to singer Sunny Ozell in 2013.

Rev. Run from Run DMC

Legendary musician Rev. Run, also known as Joseph Simmons, from the iconic Run DMC officiated the wedding of Nicole Richie and Joel Madden in 2010.
