Up until now, we have known very little of actors Zoe Kravitz and Karl Glusman’s June 29, 2019 wedding. However, the Big Little Lies star decided to end the year by sharing images of their romantic nuptials.
Kravitz and Glusman said ‘I do’ in Paris back in mid 2019. Zoe’s father, Lenny Kravitz’s 18th century mansion acted as their wedding venue.
For their big day, Zoe opted for an ankle length scoop neck dress with a drop waist and full skirt. Instead of heels, she wore ballet flats. Her hair was elegantly pulled back into a low bun and she accessorised with a headband.
Glusman went classic with a simple black and white tux.
In the images, it appears Zoe walked down ‘the aisle’ from her father’s staircase, with her family behind her. Pictured is father Lenny, mother Lisa Bonet, step-father Jason Mamoa and half-siblings Lola Iolani and Nakoa-Wolf.
There were some famous faces at the nuptials, including Alicia Keyes and Zoe’s Big Little Lies co-stars Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley and Laura Derne.
Here are some other must-see images from their big day.
The precious couple that got adopted by the nation, Nonhlanhla Soldaat and Hector Mkansi, finally had their dream wedding on December 31, 2019. After Hector was filmed presenting Nonhlanhla with a ring in a Gauteng KFC, the two went viral and their story became a homegrown legend.
The much-anticipated wedding took place on New Year’s eve as any celebration should. Laced with fairy lights, the venue was absolutely breathtaking and the white, champagne and rose gold colour scheme was magical.
Nonhlanhla’s pearl white dress was elegant, with a portrait neckline and no sleeves, which accentuated her figure perfectly. A small, understated bow on her waist tied the look together. She opted for a veil embroidered with lace and a stylish up-do with small white roses in her bun.
Her bouquet, like the flowers used in the ceremony and reception were all light peach and white roses, adding to the fresh-meet-glamorous feel of the day.
Hector was not to be overlooked either, wearing a very modern champagne coloured blazer and black bow-tie.
The two beamed and looked more in love than ever. You would never even guess that they’ve been married all along, and this was their second wedding! We wish them happiness and love.
The country’s favourite couple, Nonhlanhla Soldaat and Hector Mkansi are tying the knot on New Year’s eve!
After a whirlwind of public participation including the search for the ‘KFC couple’ and then the masses offering to contribute towards their wedding, the big day is finally here.
While we are sitting on the edge of our seats to see the dress, here’s what we know so far.
Nonhlanhla’s dress cost over R30 000, the designer/supplier is still anonymous at this time. “I want my wife to feel like a queen because she is my queen, even her dress will show that,” was all Hector was willing to reveal.
The wedding theme is royal, with gold and champagne as the main colours. Royal weddings are notoriously lavish and over the top, so we’re excited to see what the decor looks like. We’re sure the couple will have the finest of everything, from the flowers down to cutlery fit for a king and queen.
The venue is unknown for privacy reasons, but we do know there will be 250 guests. At first, the Johannesburg couple had their hopes up to get the FNB stadium so that they could invite the whole country, but it was not to be.
“There were so many people who requested to attend the wedding and we also had it in our hearts. Unfortunately, we were told that the stadium is already booked for the date so we had to find a different venue,” Hector told W24.
The couple was initially offered numerous luxurious honeymoon destinations by resorts all over the country, but rumour has it they will hop on a flight for an international honeymoon in the US. When they return, they plan to do a province-to-province tour so they can meet and thank all their supporters all across SA.
The couple is eternally grateful to everyone who is helping to make their dream wedding come true. “I was just showing my wife how much I love and appreciate her and now she will get a wedding she never dreamed she would be having,” Hector said.
Now this is what dreams are made of. Disney child star Hilary Duff said ‘I do’ to singer and record producer Matthew Koma in a beautiful private ceremony in their own front yard in Los Angeles, with personal meaning embedded throughout the day.
In 2018, Koma popped the question to Duff in a meaningful way. On a walk through a New York park, Koma presented Duff with an illustrated notebook, featuring images of them and their two kids Luca (that Duff shares with ex-husband Mike Comrie) and Banks.
“All of a sudden he says, ‘I’ve been working on something for you, and you’re going to love it. I really want our kids to know our story and now we can keep adding to this book,” duff tells Vogue. “It’s our whole entire story mapped out for us to refer back to as we get older and for our kids to know, which is amazing. I get to the very last page, and there’s a little piece that I have to lift up and my ring was inside. It was so sweet. It was really special and really simple, which is very much how we are and how we operate. Then it started raining, and it was perfect.”
With such a meaningful proposal, the wedding had to match. Duff wanted a simple and understated yet powerful wedding day. Working with celebrity planner Yifat Oren, they created an intimate front yard ceremony. Guest seats were arranged in a u-shape designed to feel like a hug. Duff’s Younger co-star Molly Bernard and actor Chris Mintz-Plasse acted as the officiants.
Their two kids were also part of the ceremony. Luca acted as ring bearer, and Duff walked down the aisle holding one-year-old daughter Banks.
Duff wore a stunning caped gown designed by Jenny Pakham. The dress featured a high neckline, an open back, long sleeves with slits up the front and accented saddle-shoulders. Their initials, their children’s initials, as well as the date of the wedding were embroidered inside the lining of the dress.

After the ceremony, Duff changed into a shimmering gold dress for the reception, where guests partied the night away. Congrats to the newlyweds!
The beautiful Princess Eugenie tied the knot with Jack Brooksbank at Windsor Castle a year ago, and she posted a sweet tribute video to celebrate. The two are a much-loved couple, and it’s easy to see their love is real. On her social media, she captioned the video: “This was the greatest day of my life…forever and always. Happy one year anniversary, my Jack!!”
The video shows intimate pictures from the fairy tale wedding at Windsor Castle, dubbed with a voice over of the pair reciting their wedding vows. Her dress takes the spotlight, as well as her jewel-studded crown and the iconic wedding kiss.
Her state of the art Peter Pilotto gown had us swooning all over again, and that train!
It’s been a pretty memorable 10 years. We’ve seen celebs make up, break up, and many tie the knot. However, there are certain weddings that will stand the test of time. Surprising, momentous or just over-the-top, these are the most iconic celebrity weddings we’ve seen this past decade.
Megan Markle and Prince Harry
We’ve seen many royal weddings this decade, but this one was our personal favourite. When Prince Harry wed Suits star Megan Markle, the entire world tuned in to view their May 19, 2018 nuptials at St.Georges Chapel. The wedding was attended by mega-stars like George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin, Priyanka Chopra, Serena Williams and David and Victoria Beckham.
Markle wore a stunningly simple boatneck sheath gown designed by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy, as well as the Order of Splendor tiara once worn by Queen Mary. Her 16-foot veil featured intricate embroidery with signature flowers from all the British Commonwealth countries.
Being a ‘commoner’, American and a woman of colour, Megan Markle marrying into royalty was a huge moment in pop culture. This couple’s relationship has been marred by public scrutiny ever since they started dating, making this fairytale wedding even more special.

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra
Nick and Priyanka’s December 1, 2018 nuptials were done in spectacular fashion with a three-day wedding blending Hindu and Christian traditions. They said ‘I do’ at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Kevin and Joe Jonas, Sophie Turner, 30 Rock actor Jack McBrayer and Elizabeth Chambers Hammer were just a few of the notable names at this lavish wedding.
Every member of the bridal party stunned in Ralph Lauren, with Chopra stealing the spotlight in an embellished, sheer number and incredibly lengthy veil.

Prince William an Kate Middleton
Prince William and Kate Middleton wed in April 2011 at Westminster Abbey in a much publicised affair that had us all glued to our TV screens. The British public lined the streets en masse to catch a glimpse of the bride as she made her way to the chapel in a Rolls Royce Phantom VI.
Middleton wore a beautiful lace gown designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen that has since seen many brides emulate.
Besides the royal family, other notable guests included David and Victoria Beckham, Elton John and Guy Ritchie.

Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian
One of the world’s greatest athletes, Serena Williams, married Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian at the Contemporary Arts Centre in New Orleans in a French ball–themed, Beauty and the Beast–styled wedding. This wedding had some serious star power with Beyonce, Kim Kardashian and Anna Wintour all in attendance.
For their November 16, 2017 nuptials Williams wore a stunning ballgown by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen and Alexis donned an Armani suit.

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin
Hollywood’s most iconic bachelor shocked the world when he announced his engagement to lawyer Amal Alamuddin. The pair said ‘I do’ in a glamorous wedding in Venice, Italy on September 27, 2014. The city seemed to come to a standstill, with locals linings canals in the hopes of witnessing the couple.
There were many famous faces at the fancy festivities, including Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, Matt Damon and wife Luciana, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber and Anna Wintour.
Clooney looked debonair in a Giorgio Armani suit and Amal was picture perfect in a custom Oscar De La Renta gown crafted from French lace with hand-embroidered pearls, diamanté details and a sweeping train.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
The queen of social media married rapper Kanye West in a lavish Italian ceremony back in May 2014. Their wedding weekend began in Paris where Kim had her bachelorette party, a pre-wedding lunch at Valentino’s home and an epic rehearsal dinner at the Versailles’s Hall of Mirrors. Wedding guests were then flown to Florence, Italy for the big day.
Kim stunned in a custom Givenchy haute couture gown designed by Ricardo Tisci. Italian singer Andrea Bocelli serenaded the bride as she walked down the aisle.
Other than the entire Kardashian/Jenner clan, famous guests included Serena Williams, Jaden Smith, John Legend and Chrissy Tiegen.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt
Even though they are no longer together, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were once the most famous (and attractive) celebrity couple so we cannot not include them in this list. Their August 2014 wedding was held at Château Miraval, the family’s estate in the French village of Correns.
It was an incredibly private affair, with only 20 people attending. Their kids were all big parts of the wedding. Maddox gave his mom away while Pax and Knox were ring bearers.
Jolie wore an elegant custom-made, pure white silk-satin Versace gown adorned with drawings by each of the couple’s six children.

Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello
The Modern Family actress said ‘I do’ to the Magic Mike star in a lavish $3 million wedding at The Breakers resort in Palm Beach, Florida back in November 2015. With 400 guests, this wedding party was pretty big. Channing Tatum, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Reese Witherspoon and Vergara’s Modern Family co-stars were just some of the famous faces in attendance.
Vergara wore a stunning custom Zuhair Murad gown that featured a detachable skirt. Pitbull even gave a surprise performance at their wedding.

Solange Knowles and Alan Ferguson
From arriving on vintage bicycles to her stunning cream jumpsuit, Solange’s wedding to longterm boyfriend Alan Ferguson was memorable for many reasons. The musician wed the video director in New Orleans Louisiana at the Marigny Opera House back in November 2017.
She wore an incredible Stephane Rolland jumpsuit featuring a plunging neckline and cape for the ceremony, and changed into a white caped gown by Kenzo designer Humberto Leon for the reception. Forgoing tradition, their 200 guests all wore white on the big day.
Of course, big sis Beyonce and mother Tina Knowles were on hand to ring in the festivities, along with Jay-Z and Questlove.
Miss Universe 2017, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, got engaged to professional football player and former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow on January 9, 2019. Since then, the couple have been very secretive about the details of their wedding.
The top questions on everyone’s mind are where the wedding will be and what the dress will look like. Both questions are yet to be answered.
They have, however, shared a few small details here and there in interviews and on their social media accounts. Here is what we know so far:
– Demi is completely in control
Tebow mentioned in an interview that the planning is being done mostly by Nel-Peters. He said that all he wants is to be surrounded by the people he loves, and whatever his fiancé plans will be perfect.
– Zavion Kotze will be planning the wedding
Nel-Peters chose the highly regarded and popular Zavion Kotze to design and coordinate their wedding. Kotze launched his events company in 2010 and specialises in event management, wedding planning and floral design.

She said that she has six bridesmaids; all of whom are women she holds dear and whom she hopes will be in her life forever. With regards to her bridesmaids she said, “I don’t think it would have been as fun without them”.
– We have an idea of their wedding dance
Tebow posted a video to his Instagram captioned, “Cha-cha slide is pretty tough”. The video shows the couple practicing the Cuban dance, with Tim sweating through his shirt. Demi posted a picture on the same day captioned, “Our first ‘first dance’ lesson”. We’re sure they’ll nail it on the big day!

– The wedding should be soon
Nel-Peters has already had her bachelorette party and bridal shower. This is a sign that the wedding date may be soon.
South Africa’s very own Zozibini Tunzi has just been crowned Miss Universe for 2019. Her beauty, strength and intellect have inspired us all to be a little bit like her. Take some style tips from our reigning queen this upcoming wedding season by taking a page from her fashion diaries.
Wedding dress:
Zozibini strutted down the Miss Universe stage wearing a stunning white caped gown representing her Xhosa heritage, designed by Biji – La Maison de Couture. Modern and structured, this dress makes a powerful statement.
Bridal capes are a great option for brides that are looking for a little something extra and for those that are looking to break away from the norm. If you’re not into the super modern look, you can soften the cape by going for lighter fabrics to give an airy finish.
If you’re daring, why not go for an illusion gown wedding dress? Zozibini wore this Biji – La Maison de Couture to the Fairlady Santam Woman of the Future Awards earlier this year and gave us major #outfitgoals.
This lace applique gown is delicate yet sexy, perfect for the bride wanting to strike a balance. If you’re scared of the full illusion look you can always line certain parts.
Zozibini’s ornate crown, named ‘The Power of Unity’, celebrates the complexity, diversity, unapologetic ambition and strength of women. With more than 1,770 diamonds set in 18-karat gold, the crown features interconnected leaves and flowers. A 62.83 carat golden canary diamond is the stunning centrepiece.
While you might not have the budget to replicate this specific crown, there are so many ways to get the look. Give off regal romance with these stunning crowns.

Celebrities have been feeling the love this year, and we can’t get enough. From a romantic star-studded event in the South of France to a three-day extravaganza in Marrakesh, these famous couples went big for their 2019 nuptials.
Justin and Hailey Bieber
The most exciting, star studded wedding of the year goes to the Biebers, who wed in Montage Palmetto Bluff, Bluffton, South Carolina on September 30. With a stunning off-white gown designed by Virgil Abloh and a statement veil with the words ’till death do us part” stitched onto it in white block lettering, Hailey’s look was absolutely iconic. But she didn’t stop there. She had two reception looks: a Ralph & Russo halterneck and a Vera Wang slip dress that she paired with sneakers.
Their second nuptials (they had a small courthouse wedding in 2018) were attended by their many famous friends, including Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Justine Sky, Jaden Smith, Joan Smalls, and Justin’s manager Scooter Braun.
Joe Jonas & Sophie Turner
Following a host of pre-wedding activities, this loved up-couple said ‘I do’ at the Château de Tourreau in the South of France with their closest family and friends around them. Of course, Kevin and Nick Jonas were there, as well as sister-in-law Priyanka Chopra, Maisie Williams and Ashley Graham. Turner wore a stunning long-sleeve gown designed by Louis Vuitton’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquière.
This is their second wedding. The couple famously wed at a Las Vegas chapel after the Billboard Music Awards, and their nuptials were broadcast to the world via Diplo’s Instagram Live.
Zoe Kravitz & Karl Glusman
The last weekend in June was a pretty eventful week in France. Joining Joe and Sophie, Big Little Lies star Zoe Kravitz also said ‘I do’ to actor Karl Glusman in the city of love. The location was particularly special to them as it is where they met back in 2016.
The couple is very private, and haven’t shared any official images from their nuptials. However, we do know it was a fun-filled affair. According to W Magazine, dad Lenny Kravitz’s 18th-century mansion acted as wedding venue. In an interesting fashion statement, the bride-to-be wore bridal biker shorts and an embellished fishnet cover for their rehearsal dinner.
Their wedding had an A-list attendance, including Zoe’s parents Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, step-father Jason Mamoa, Cara Delevigne and the cast of Big Little Lies.
Idris Elba & Sabrina Dhowre Elba
Idris Elba and Sabrina Dhowre had a stunning three-day extravaganza in Marrakesh back in April. The location was chosen as Sabrina’s family is originally from East Africa and Idris’s is from West Africa, so they wanted to meet somewhere in between. In a tribute to their cultures, they wove Ghanaian and Somalian traditions into their big day.
Sabrina wore an A-line crêpe dress with delicate Chantilly lace train for the ceremony, and a figure-hugging shimmery number for the reception. Both were designed by Vera Wang.
Ellie Goulding and Caspar Jopling
The ‘Lights’ musician said ‘I do’ to her art-dealer boyfriend, Caspar Jopling, at the York Minster Cathedral in England back in August. Goulding stunned with five beautiful bridal looks for their festivities. For the ceremony, she donned a bespoke Chloé gown and a delicate silk tulle veil with an organza collar featuring her and Caspar’s initials. Her other gowns include a sleek off-the-shoulder silk Stella McCartney creation, a beaded Ralph & Russo number, a short Balmain number featuring semi-sheer puffed sleeves and she ended the evening in a simple strapless black gown with a full skirt.
The wedding was a royal affair, with Sarah, Duchess of York and her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie in attendance. Other notable guests include Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom and Ed Sheeran.
Heidi Klum and Tom Kaulitz
The German model and her Tokio Hotel singer beau had a romantic ceremony off the coast of Capri in August. They tied the knot onboard the famous Christina O, following in the footsteps of Princess Grace Kelly and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis who also chose this yacht for their respective receptions.
The pair legally married back in February, using this extravagant affair as an opportunity to celebrate with family and friends.
You won’t be seeing any images from Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ 2012 nuptials on Pinterest and The Knot anymore. The prominent websites joined other platforms taking a stand by placing a shadow ban on all images relating to plantation weddings.
Pinterest, The Knot Worldwide, Brides and Zola recently announced that they would be making changes to their platform that would restrict all references to plantations, as well as any language attempting to romanticise these locations as wedding venues.
Those searching for such content will receive a notification that the images may violate Pinterest’s policies. The sites will no longer work with vendors that are plantations or attempt to romantacise such locations.
This means that images from Ryan Reynold’s and Blake Lively’s 2012 wedding held at Boone Hall Plantation in South Carolina, have now been shadow banned from these popular sites.
This move is in response to a campaign led by racial justice organization, Color of Change, who argued that the weddng industry was glamorising and capatalising sites of human rights atrocities.
“The decision to glorify plantations as nostalgic sites of celebration is not an empowering one for the Black women and justice-minded people who use your site,” Color of Change wrote to the Knot Worldwide executives. “Plantations are physical reminders of one of the most horrific human rights abuses the world has ever seen. The wedding industry routinely denies the violent conditions Black people faced under chattel slavery by promoting plantations as romantic places to marry.”
Many plantations in America thrived off slave labour and became places of human rights abuse for the people forced into these demeaning positions. As such, they’ve become painful reminders of a dark and sordid history for many African Americans who descended from such slaves.
“Weddings should be a symbol of love and unity. Plantations represent none of those things,” said a Pinterest spokesperson. “We are working to limit the distribution of this content and accounts across our platform, and continue to not accept advertisements for them.”
“We want to make sure we’re serving all our couples and that they don’t feel in any way discriminated against,” The Knot’s chief marketing officer Dhanusha Sivajee told Buzzfeed News.
