Being married to one of the world’s most famous chefs definitely comes with its perks. Jamie Oliver proved just that, when he prepared a sweet picnic for his wife Juliette Norton (better known as Jools) on their 20th wedding anniversary on June 24.

First, Oliver shared a touching video on his Instagram page, showing pictures from their wedding album.

He captioned the video, “Today is my 20th wedding anniversary!! I had a great day today with my best mate @joolsoliver celebrating 20 years of marriage!! Where has that time gone it’s crazy! “20 years married Today !!❤️❤️20 exciting, happy, fun wonderful years married to my best friend ❤️ we were due to renew our wedding vows this summer but that can wait! 20 years married but together 27 years my first true love ❤️ Yes I drive you Bonkers and you probably deserve a medal etc..but being with you feels like home (and you know much I love to be at home)!!” she said.

Later in the day, Oliver surprised his wife with a specially prepared picnic.

Jools on the way to the picnic

He carefully planned the menu, as is to be expected from a top chef, and wrote it up with a “JJ” letterhead. It featured a hand-drawn picnic basket full of food between their initials.

The menu sounded delicious, and included items such as Italian summer fruit, chocolate mousse and crème fraiche, and a blackcurrant leaf cordial.

According to Hello Magazine, the special anniversary surprise came just after the pair were forced to cancel their vow renewal.

This clearly didn’t get them down, as they seem to have made the best of it. They even received flowers for their special day.

A princess’s look is not complete without a tiara. Swedish royal brides, interestingly, seem to gravitate towards a specific one.

The Cameo is a famed tiara in the Swedish royal family and is believed to be one of the oldest tiaras still in use. The unusual tiara has a long, romantic history and has been worn by both Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria on their wedding days.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/B-ripNwnWWN/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

The crown is believed to have first belonged to empress Josephine, the first wife of Napoleon, and the first empress of the French after he proclaimed himself Emperor. The crown was reportedly made for her in the early 1800s during the final years of her marriage to Napoleon.

The crown features 7 cameos, or oval pieces of jewellery that consist of a portrait in profile carved into it. The cameos were individually made and not intended to go together, which is why they vary in size and appearance. The largest cameo at the centre of the crown depicts a scene from the famous story of Cupid and Psyche. A base of gold and seed pearls frame the cameos.

The #cameotiara The gorgeous bridal tiara of the Bernadottes had its start not in Sweden but at the imperial court of Napoléon. 1804: In France, Napoléon Bonaparte is crowned emperor at the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris. At his side is his wife, Joséphine. Born in Martinique as the daughter of a wealthy Creole planter, Joséphine had previously been married to Alexandre de Beauharnais, a French aristocrat who was guillotined during the Reign of Terror. She is crowned empress by her husband at his coronation, and she needs a vast collection of jewelry to help her fit the part. Among these is a set of cameo jewels, apparently made for her during this period by her husband’s court jeweler, Marie-Étienne Nitot. The set includes a grand tiara in gold set with pearls and large cameos depicting the story of Cupid and Psyche. It also includes a necklace, a bracelet, and a pair of earrings. Although Joséphine had two children, Eugène and Hortense, with Alexandre, she is not able to provide Napoléon with a much-needed biological heir to the French throne. He divorces her and marries Marie Louise of Austria, daughter of the Holy Roman Emperor. Joséphine relocates to the Château de Malmaison near Paris, taking her jewelry along with her. Joséphine loans the cameos to her daughter, Hortense, who had briefly been Queen of Holland during the first decade of the nineteenth century. Hortense wears the cameos in a portrait painted by Anne-Louis Girodet. The painting is the first known representation of the cameos. Josephine’s granddaughter received the #cameo as a wedding gift when she married #crownprinceoscar of #Sweden passing the tiara into the #Swedishroyalfamily where it has become the traditional #wedding tiara. #napoleonandjosephine #crownprincessvictoria #royaljewels #royalhistory

The crown ended up in Sweden via empress Josephine’s granddaughter, also named Josephine, when she married the country’s first King Oscar in 1823. The queen passed the tiars on to daughter Eugenie. Since Eugenie had no children, the crown travelled throughout the family houses until it was presented to Princess Sybilla. It was from here that the crown began to feature atop the heads of Swedish brides.
Two of Princess Sybilla’s daughters, Princess Birgitta and Princess Desiree wore the tiara on their big days. In 1972, the tiara was passed on to Princess Sybilla’s son (who became King the following year) after her passing, and his bride Silvia wore it on their wedding day as she became Queen of Sweden. Queen Silvia wearing the tiara on her big day added even deeper royal significance to this prized diadem. Their eldest child and heir to the throne, Princess Victoria followed tradition and proudly wore the crown during her 2010 royal nuptials.

Grease star Olivia Newton-John has reached a milestone with husband John Easterling. The couple recently celebrated their 12-year wedding anniversary, and seem as loved up as ever.

Newton-John took to Instagram to gush over her husband. She shared a picture from their 2008 wedding and sweetly captioned it, “Seems like yesterday I married the man of my dreams in Peru on the winter solstice 12 wonderful years ago! Happy Anniversary my darling @therealamazonjohn and thank you Gregg for capturing these special moments?”

    https://www.instagram.com/p/CBuGQMkDDG2/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

The Grammy award-winning singer and actress met the American businessman and environmentalist at an environmental show in the 90s, although there was no romantic connection. They kept running into one another over the years and grew close when Easterling stayed at Newton-John’s guesthouse for an extended period after he got in a car accident.

When Easterling, who had never seen Grease, heard Newton-John singing at a concert they went to, he was amazed and thought she was a healer.

“All I could think was that I wanted to introduce her to other healers who work in the Amazon,” Easterling said in an interview. “So, after the show, I asked if she wanted to come to Peru and she said yes. I thought, ‘Oh no, I’m taking her to Peru, I’d better watch Grease!’”

The pair fell in love on their Peru trip. In 2008, they married atop a mountain in Peru in an Incan spiritual wedding ceremony.

Easterling is founder of the Amazon Herb Company, and even formulated a special blend of cannabis, called ‘Olivia’s Choice’ in honour of his wife. Both are cannabis advocates, and Newton-John says the herb greatly eases the pain and stress of her stage 4 breast cancer.

Academy award-winning actress Viola Davis and her husband, actor and producer Julius Tennon celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary on June 23. She gushed about him in a touching celebratory Instagram post.

Accompanied by photos from their wedding and vow renewal ceremonies, Davis wrote a touching tribute to her husband.

“17 years of marriage to the most beautiful man in the WORLD!!!! You have made my life sweeter and my heart bigger. I prayed for you and God said,”Yes! I have just the right person for you!!!!” Happy Anniversary my love… The best is yet to be❤❤❤,” she said.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/CByUCwOhnmM/

As is to be expected, congratulations poured in from a multitude of fellow celebrities, including How To Get Away With Murder co-star Matt McGorry, Gabrielle Union, Octavia Spencer, Kerry Washington, Halle Berry, and more.

According to Essence, Davis said that she met her husband just three weeks after making a special prayer. She said that at the time, she was “the loneliest woman in the world” and was told that she needed to “pray for a husband”.

Speaking to Page Six, she said “I said I wanted a big black man from the South who looked like a football player, who already had children, who maybe had been married before . . . 3 1/2 weeks later I met my husband.”

Tennon said on an episode of OWN’s Black Love that they had met when he overheard Davis talking to a friend about how she didn’t like living in Los Angeles. They ended up chatting and he gave her his card. Davis then took several weeks to call him up, since she felt she wasn’t ready. “I didn’t call [him] because I had bad credit; I was struggling with driving in LA,” she said.

A month after they met, they finally went on their first date.  Only 20 minutes after their first date he called her to tell her what a great time he had, and another 20 minutes later he called again to say, “I just want to tell you I got home, and you are a beautiful woman. I’m about to go to sleep, and I just wanted to tell you to have a good night.”

Thereafter, the pair fell in love and tied the knot in 2003. In 2011, they adopted their daughter, Genesis.

It’s not many celebrities who can maintain long-lasting,  successful marriages in the spotlight. In fact, Hollywood is notorious for having countless marriages end in sensational divorces splashed across tabloids.

Some couples do however make it work amidst the pressures and high roller lifestyles of being famous. One rock star couple we all know and love is singer Pink and her husband Carey Hart.

Pink, (real name Alecia Beth Moore) met former professional motocross rider and current off-road truck racer Carey Hart at an extreme sports event in 2001. He was a contestant and piqued her interest.

The non-traditional rockstar honoured her ‘rebel’ persona by proposing to Hart during a motocross competition in 2005.

She painted a sign saying “Will you marry me?” and showed it to him on the course during the race. When he didn’t respond, she added “Serious!” at the bottom and showed it to him again. Of course, he said yes!

They tied the knot in 2006 at the luxurious Four Seasons resort in Costa Rica. The Walk me home singer wore a tiered halter neck with a black bow belt and headband.

The power couple has not been without their fair share of marriage problems, however. The pair are as notorious for their ups and downs as they are for sticking together.

According to Goalcast, the two had a major split during their first two years of marriage but never got divorced. During this break, in 2008, Hart asked her to perform at his Las Vegas club on New Year’s Eve and she agreed. She had planned quite a theatrical surprise for him in the meantime.

“After soundcheck, I told him that he needed to come to my room,” she told Redbook. “I had made him a photo album of all the cards he had ever given me, of all the photos of our entire relationship. I spent months on this album. On the last page, I pasted a photo of me from a really bad movie I made years ago with my neck slit and blood everywhere. Next to it I wrote, ‘This is me without you.’”

They reconciled, went for marriage councelling after that, and seemed stronger together ever since.

“Both of us came from broken homes, yet we made the choice to work hard at our relationship. And look at us now! Two misfits when we met, we have grown together and now have an amazing family,” Hart posted on Instagram on their 14th anniversary earlier this year.

The couple have a daughter, Willow Sage, and a son, Jameson Moon.

While many may expect that a footballer may not be the most romantic type of guy out there, Roberto Firmino has smashed the stereotype. The Liverpool FC striker celebrated his third wedding anniversary with his wife Larissa on June 21, and shared a touching Instagram post to commemorate it.

Alongside images from their wedding day, Firmino wrote (translated from Portuguese): “Three years of the happiest day of my life. The day that our mouth was filled with laughter and our tongue with songs of joy. Even in other nations it was said, “The Lord has done great things for this people.” Yes, great things the Lord has done for us, so we are happy. ”

“Not even in my best dreams could I imagine that God would give me such a precious and perfect FAMILY! Thank you my God is much more than I deserved. ?? With you I built my best memories and with you I want to continue for the rest of my days. Thank you for making me this man so happy, so complete! To have you is to want to be better, to want to do your best, to see things in a better way, to have the strength to fight, to believe, to win. I am IN LOVE with you❤️,” he added.

Larissa shared similar images to celebrate their anniversary, writing: “Ahhh if you could see through my eyes the way I see you, if you could measure or put in a tangible way the love I feel for you, you would not believe it! Happy 3 years of a lifetime together.”

According to the Liverpool Echo, the happy couple spent their anniversary at home, over a special dinner prepared by catering company Salt and Pepper.

Roberto Firmino, better known as Bobby by his fans, married Larissa in June 2017, in his home town in Brazil. Judging by the photos, their wedding was spectacular.

The pair have two daughters, Valentina and Bella.

Ricky Martin wants to go big to celebrate his marriage with partner Jwan Joseph. The pair already tied the knot in 2018, and are now planning a massive celebration with family and friends that may take place over multiple days.

Speaking to Mexican show Ventaneando, the singer explained that he wants a four-day wedding that will involve all four of the couple’s children. The twins, Matteo and Valentino witnessed their first nuptials but now Martin wants newest additions Renn and Lucía to see their parents marry.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/B3Afz2bnEkr/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

The couple have been together since 2016 and spontaneously tied the knot in 2018.

“Two madmen have gotten together! Months passed and we said, ‘What are we waiting for? This is meant to be,” said Martin in the interview. “It just so happened that my parents were here in Los Angeles, and his parents were as well, so I said, ‘We have no other reason to wait, call the judge!’ It was super improvised.”

They are now passionate about having a large, public event to showcase their love.

“It’s going to be a great event. And people will be talking about it. We’re a modern family, and I think people need to see, and I want to normalise the beauty of our family. That’s why I’m making it public and I’m going to share my wedding with the world.”

Raven-Symoné, actress and former co-host of The View, gave her fans the sweetest surprise. She announced that she had secretly married her girlfriend, Miranda Maday in an Instagram post on June 18.

Alongside an image of the pair in their backyard, Pearman (Symoné’s full name is Raven-Symoné Christina Pearman) wrote, “I got married to a woman who understands me from trigger to joy, from breakfast to midnight snack, from stage to home. I love you Mrs. Pearman-Maday!”

    https://www.instagram.com/p/CBlPtkLD4F-/

According to the Los Angeles Times, Pearman had teased her announcement just moments before her Instagram post, with another post showing a glass of bubbly and it read, “So something happened this week, that has changed my life FOR THE BETTER!”. It seems, however, the post has since been removed.

Pearman also showed off their new wedding rings, in another post.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/CBly_tjDPBb/

Maday, who is a social media manager for a company called Off The Menu, shared her own celebratory post, saying “My wife for life”.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/CBlTaP4pThW/

It seems that their ceremony was a low-key backyard wedding. They had a few guests as can be seen in Pearman’s second Instagram post, and a pretty, petite cake. The pair wore casual outfits, and Maday rocked a veil too.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/CBmCTMupF9-/

The loved-up couple had not been very public about their relationship prior to their wedding announcement. Pearman has generally been private about her relationships. The actress beloved for her roles in That’s So Raven and The Cosby Show first opened up about her sexuality in a tweet regarding gay marriage.

Not letting the pandemic get them down, they seem as happy as can be in their newly-wed bliss. Congrats to the happy couple!

Royal weddings are often the stuff of fairytales, so it seems fitting that a curse would somehow be involved. A real-life curse may be true for one Royal family. According to legend, The Grimaldi Royal Family of Monaco is cursed and will never have a true happily-ever-after.

How the curse came to be is a bit of a mystery. One report of a 13th-century legend tells the tale of a Flemish woman who was raped by Prince Rainier I. In retaliation, she cursed the House, saying that “never will a Grimaldi find true happiness in marriage”.

Another tale says that a witch being burnt at the stake said those immortal words preventing a true happily-ever-after.

Over the course of the family’s 700-year-long rule, they have experienced much heartbreak and tragedy. Here are just a few of the ways the family has been unlucky in love:

    Grace Kelly’s death

The Grimaldi family rose to international fame in 1952 when Prince Rainier III married Oscar-winning actress Grace Kelly. However, their marriage was not the stuff of fairytales. Kelly reportedly struggled with the intense demand and expectation that comes with being a royal.

In 1982, the superstar actress tragically died in a car accident at the age of 52. She had reportedly suffered a stroke while driving with her daughter Stephanie. Dr. Jean Chatelain, chief surgeon at the hospital where she was treated, says she might have survived had she been at home and not in the car.

    Princess Caroline

Grace Kelly and Prince Renier’s eldest daughter Caroline had a short-lived marriage to French banker Philippe Junot, and also lost her second husband, Stefano Casiraghi, in a tragic accident. Casiraghi, a professional speedboat racer, died in a powerboat crash off the coast of Monaco in 1990 while he was competing in his last race before retiring from the sport. Only weeks earlier, the racer had survived an incident in which his boat exploded.

Her third marriage to Prince Ernst August V of Hanover has had its ups and downs. The Prince is said to have a terrible temper and has faced assault charges in the past. The couple are now estranged.

    Princess Stephanie

Grace Kelly’s other daughter, Princess Stephanie was long considered the wild child of the family and brought even more scandal when she married her bodyguard, Daniel Ducruet after having children with him. The relationship ended when his affair with Miss Topless Belgium went public. She was also briefly married to a Portuguese acrobat 10 years her junior.

    Prince Albert

Grace Kelly’s son Prince Albert II and wife Charlene Wittstock have also reportedly been unlucky in love. The Prince fathered two illegitimate children, one with a flight attendant from Togo and another with a US estate agent before he married South African swimmer Charlene Wittstock. Reports that he fathered a third love child while he was in a relationship with Wittstock were highly publicised in the lead up to their 2011 wedding.

Whether it’s the result of a curse or sheer bad luck, one thing is for sure. The House of Grimaldi has been anything but lucky in love.

Despite being the recipient of multiple awards, including three Golden Globes and two Academy Awards, George Clooney’s reputation for being a bachelor is what drew the attention of many. For years he was famed for being “the eternal bachelor”, until he finally met his match: Amal Alamuddin.

Before he was lovestruck by the human rights lawyer who he now shares twins with, Clooney saw a flurry of girlfriends come and go.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/CBhy2YKnPDj/

Many might not be aware of this, but in the early ’90s Clooney was married. His wife at the time was actress Talia Balsam.  The pair dated in the ’80s and made it official in ’89 in Las Vegas. Not long after, in 1992, they split up. According to GQ Magazine, Clooney once said that he “probably – definitely – wasn’t someone who should have been married at that point.”

Thereafter, Clooney became a serial dater. Here are some of the women he found himself spending time with:

    – Celine Balitran: Clooney met the French law student and waitress while filming The Peacemaker. After dating for 3 years from 1996 to 1998, the pair called it quits.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/BM611RxFyBP/

    – Lisa Snowden: Clooney had a five-year-long on-again-off-again relationship with this British model. They were together from 2000 to 2005.

    – Renee Zellweger: According to Clooney, they were together only for a short while. They are still friends now.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/CBd_XxMAtu4/

    – Elisabetta Canalis: Clooney and the Italian actress were together from 2009 to 2011.

    – Stacy Keibler: Clooney remains friends with retired professional wrestler Kiebler after the two dated between 2011 and 2013.

These are only some of the women who were reported to have had relationships with Clooney. Due to such a wide variety of relationships following one after the other, with none ending in marriage, the actor built up quite a reputation for “playing the field”.

Clooney said more than a few times that he would never get married. According to Entertainment Tonight, Clooney, in 2014 said to Express UK that people’s fascination with his love life always shocked him. “I keep saying I’ll never get married again or have children but people just don’t want to believe me,” he said.

Not long before he met his now-wife he was reported to have said, “I haven’t had aspirations in that way, ever. I was married in 1989. I wasn’t very good at it.” In July 2013, however, things changed when Clooney met human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/B-zXC-yJVjh/

They met at a dinner party in Lake Como, Italy. In October of the same year, they had their first date, where George invited Alamuddin to Abbey Road Studios in London. Things quickly progressed from there.

They spent Christmas together, then went on a safari in Kenya, and finally in February 2014, when he was back in Los Angeles, he decided he would propose.

He popped the question over a dinner which he made. She said yes, and that was the end of Clooney’s eternal bachelor-dom.

The loved-up couple married in Venice in September 2014, and now six years later they are as happy as ever, with their twins Alexander and Ella.
