Bindi Irwin, daughter of the late Steve Irwin, will marry her longtime boyfriend Chandler Powell this November. They both want this special day to honour Steve, as he was much loved by all and had a very good relationship with his daughter. Steve, a wildlife conservationist, passed away in 2006 after being stung by a sting-ray.

Her younger brother, Robert, will walk her down the aisle. In a touching post on social media, Bindi said: “Dad, You would be so incredibly proud of Robert. He has been such an amazing support during this beautiful new life chapter.” If that hasn’t made you tear up yet, Bindi’s mum Terri will dance with her in Steve’s place for the traditional father-daughter dance.

The Irwin family portray a wholesome picture and seem to be really close to each other. Speaking to the Sunshine Coast Daily, she said: “I do really wish that dad was here to be able to celebrate with us as a family. I think in some ways he is and his spirit lives on in everything that we do, and I always feel closest to dad here at Australia Zoo.”

True to the family’s love for nature and wildlife, the wedding will be held at Australia Zoo, which was set up years ago by Bindi’s grandparents. Steve Irwin grew up working in the zoo. That’s also where she met Chandler and where they got engaged on her 21st birthday. And, not all too surprisingly, Bindi will carry a koala down the aisle (one of her favourite animals) instead of a bouquet.

“I’m not sure how many people have walked down the aisle with a koala, but we may be setting some new trends for weddings from here on out,” she said laughingly on Good Morning America.

The sustainability-focused couple might send out their invitations made from elephant waste, according to hints from the wedding planner, Trudy Croad. “Both Bindi and Chandler are the ultimate in everything being sustainable and recyclable, so from every element of their day, they’re going to really want that to come true. Elephant poo makes the most beautiful recycled wedding invitation paper. So they could use the elephant poo they have on site to make their invitations,” she told The Mirror.

As for what she would wear, Bindi playfully posted a teaser of the dress, showing only the sleeve (and her gorgeous ring):

All engagement rings are unique in some way, sure. But some are more unique than others! Since it’s something you’ll be wearing for the rest of your life (hopefully), it’s quite a big deal that you love it. Some leave the ring-choosing to their significant other, while some make it very clear that if they are ever being proposed to, they want to choose the ring themselves.

We found some not-so-traditional rings. And you won’t believe your eyes.

    1. I will rock you

This unpolished, earthy-looking ring has a very magical charm to it. Enough to melt a heart of stone.

    2. What stone is that?

This ring is absolutely brilliant. The stone, called a Chrysoberyl, is a colour somewhere between honey and lime.

WHAT STONE IS THAT? Meet Chrysoberyl! A hue of honey, with a tint of green, this beauty is the 3rd hardest stone after diamonds and sapphires, and comes in a range of colors. For his love’s engagement ring, Taylor wanted a stone that was slightly more green because it “looked like the color of her eyes.” I created this piece with scalloped bezel and clean band, and am so proud of how this stunner turned out. . . . #jewelrydesigner #chicagojewelrydesigner #customengagementring #customweddingrings #alternativebridal #chrysoberyl #vivianalanghoffdesign #vivianalanghoff #uniqueweddingrings #uniqueengagementring #ooakjewelry #ooak #chicagojewelry #chicagojewelrystore #logansquare #logansquarejewelry

    3. Moonlight fever

This ring is truly one of a kind. The multicolour moonstone is mesmerizing. We love it to the moon and back.

    4. The darker side of love

This one is eye catching and surely not dainty, but beautiful in a fairy tale-kind of way.

    5. Bouquet of love

This cluster ring looks like crystallized fruit and reminds us of laughter. How exquisite.

    7. The galaxy on my finger

Opals are simply inexplicable. This looks like something out of this world.

    8. Something from the sea

There’s no law that says engagement rings have to sport stones,. We love these freshwater pearls for soemthing different.

    9. Love triangle

This is such a refreshing design and the rose gold just makes it pop. We are sold on these.

    10. Open ending

This one is inspiring for many reasons, but mostly because it doesn’t try to outshine everything else. We love the way it catches the eye and the design truly complements the hand.

There’s something about the official wedding kiss. Everyone holds their breath and witnesses an otherwise personal gesture with great anticipation. It just absolutely brings it all together. Like the old saying goes, “sealed with a kiss.” It’s the classic symbol of affection and love, and all the guests celebrate it with the couple on their big day.

Here are some of our all-time faves caught on camera.

    Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale

When the Hollaback girl-singer said I do, that kiss was one for the books. She didn’t care a single bit about her trademark popping red lipstick getting smudged.

    Cosmopolitan

    Ellie Goulding and Caspar Jopling

These two lovebirds got married in style. With a classic dress, and a kiss to match. Super sweet.

    Studio_M

    Justin and Hailey Bieber

Yes, we know. It’s all over the internet right now and you’ve seen this one a hundred times. Still, we can’t help but love this sexy kiss. Let’s give credit where credit is due.

    David and Victoria Beckham

Ready for a blast form the past? This iconic couple has been married for 20 years already (what!) and the fashion for that time was just… how do we put it? Different. However, the love stayed the same and this kiss is therefore a much loved one. What a Posh kiss as well.

    Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio

True, this is not even a kiss yet, technically. But it’s very true to Marilyn Monroe. Teasing, flirtatious and completely in control, we love this wedding moment caught on camera.

Food itself can be artwork and oh-so-pretty. Let’s not kid each other, we’re all here for the dessert. And you know there will be pictures taken, so you want them to look gorgeous! We found some super creative desserts to give you ideas. Even if you’re not a sweet tooth, you’ll love this eye candy.

    Cookies

Ah, yes. An old-time favourite, and the perfect canvas. You can go crazy with different shapes and designs, or keep it simple with all of the same. Either way, these are great, even as a souvenir for guests to take home since it won’t spoil easy.

    Chocolate fountain

This one is an oldie but a goodie. There’s no one on earth that doesn’t like chocolate and if they say they don’t, they’re wrong. The beauty of this is that you can have guests dip in anything under the sun. Think fresh fruit, biscuit-fingers, or even donuts. The list goes on. Plus, it makes for a super pretty decor piece.

    Mousse

Delectable, smooth and decadent. Mousse is fancy and fun at the same time because you can make little artworks by packing different layers in a glass or glass bowl. That way, you can play with different colours. Or you can keep it as simple as chocolate. Stunning pictures all the way!

    Macarons

Almost seems like we left the most obvious for last, doesn’t it? We all know that macarons are highly Instagrammable. Scientific fact. And yummy too! Well, eat your heart out.

Many a boyfriend has had to comply with his girlfriend’s latest photo recreation attempt of some amazing couple photo she saw online. The universal sigh followed by the eye roll, usually ending in a blunt refusal to pose any longer (four hours later). One newly engaged man was a darling, and completely down for it.

Despite his best efforts, though, Collin Hewett messed it up completely. As in, horrendously. He practically drowned his fiance, Alyssa Snodsmith, in champagne. Luckily, she was a good sport and laughed all the way through!

The photo Alyssa found on Pinterest by photographer Brianna Bender Martin looks simple enough. So couple Collin and Alyssa decided it’s the one to recreate. Here’s where the fun starts.

Apparently, at first, all went well but the angle was not exactly right and the flow of champagne too little. So Collin kicked it up a notch. Next thing you know, champagne is streaming uncontrollably all over Alyssa’s face, with her gasping for air. Here’s the tweet that has since gone viral:

“I was trying so hard to pour it slowly that when it started to kind of trickle out at the end, I over-adjusted and it came pouring out all over her,” he told TIME, laughing.

“I’m fine by the way,” Alyssa responded to the original tweet. Seems it was all taken in good spirit and she decided to roll with it.

Their photographer, Chandler Lefever, laughed just as hard.

Apparently, the rest of their photoshoot were shots of them walking far off, taken from behind, so they wouldn’t look soaked on their engagement photos for the rest of their lives. Not nearly as much fun, we think.

Recently, it’s become almost like a fun guessing game: Does the bride have decor on the soles of her shoes? Does the groom? Some couples have taken to writing messages for each other there, some brides have inspirational words and some just want a fancy decoration. We have some brilliant ideas that will sweep you off your feet.

    Messages to each other

Reading a heartfelt letter from your soon-to-be spouse just before the wedding is a special moment. Save the trees and write it on their shoes.

    Matchy-matchy

These are especially great for pictures. If there are song lyrics, quotes or anything else you like, you can split it so that both of your shoes complete it together.

    Personalised stickers

There might be a specific theme you want to carry, or something that’s meaningful or beautiful to you that you want to use. It could be your new surname, the date of the wedding, anything really. The options are endless.

Bridesmaid dresses are a tricky one. There’s a delicate balance between wanting them to look gorgeous, and not wanting them to upstage you on your big day. Here’s some good news: You can get both. The latest trends for bridesmaids are absolutely stunning, but not at all overpowering and will complement your bridal party perfectly. Your bridesmaids will feel great and love you for it. Here are some non-traditional outfits that are stylish, classy and sweet.

    The two-piece

Two pieces can be just as beautiful and formal as you want them to be. Long skirts with halter tops are very in, especially loose fitting pieces that have a soft, flowing effect. Opt for a darker colour at the bottom and a light colour at the top. The top can be either tucked in or not. Lace is popular, and will fit in nicely if you have lace in your own wedding dress.

    The embroidered dress

Embroidery is one of those things that used to be old-fashioned, then everybody realised how beautiful it is and brought it back big time. It has a feminine touch and goes well with pastel colours. Florals are always a favourite, but it doesn’t have to bind you. We’re loving this blue mullet dress with netted under layers.

    The tiered dress

Layers are good on everyone if you do them right. Tiered dresses are super fun and work well with short or midi dresses. It has a fashionable vibe and depending on the material you opt for, can be elegant or playful.

Remember, it’s your day and your bridesmaids should make your day more beautiful, not take the attention off your dress. But that doesn’t mean they can’t be stunning too!

You might think that a wedding planner wouldn’t want to do the work of planning his/her own wedding, since that’s what they do for a living. But actually, that’s the perfect reason for them to do it. They know all the ins and outs, the tricks and tips and most importantly, they have contacts in the industry.

One such lucky lady,  California-based Erica España, recently threw her own wedding when she got hitched to her long-time best friend and high school sweetheart Dustin Lakin. They said their vows in the lovely English Gardens of Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills. And here’s the best part: There was no one at the ceremony.

Afterward the ceremony, they invited 30 family members for an intimate dinner at a hotel in Downton LA.

Erica told Brides that she called in some favours for her big day. The couple’s custom invitation suite featured calligraphy and bright, cheerful botanicals. It also included elements that hinted at reception elements to come. She asked bakers she often worked with to make cookies and macaroons that matched the invitation suite. The treats were packaged in mini velvet bags, the same material used to line the envelopes.

After the stately dinner, they threw a dance party for 90 guests. “I didn’t stop dancing until the wedding was over!” said Erica.

As a wedding planner AND a married woman, we are eager to get some wedding advice from her. Her mantra is easy enough: “Go with your gut and do what makes you feel comfortable. When guests see that you’re relaxed and having fun, they’ll follow suit.”

The entertainment world is shocked after an Instagram post by famous rap artist Nicki Minaj hinted at a secret wedding. Minaj has been dating rapper Kenneth Petty for almost a year now and fans are going crazy over this surprising post showing hats which read “bride” and “groom” and mugs that read “Mr.” and “Mrs.”

The caption, dated yesterday, read “Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty 10.21.19”, and led viewers to assume that the two recently got legally married. Several celebrities commented on the Minaj’s post, offering their congratulations.

However, some are wary about the post, not wanting to get excited too soon. The singer never actually officially confirmed the marriage, and some might argue that Minaj, who is known for flamboyant fashion statements, would never get married without a huge ceremony and an outfit to match.

Nicki reportedly told Queen Radio in August that they will be married, but that “I have to work on my album and I have a lot to focus on that I don’t want to do the big wedding now. We’ll do the big wedding later.”

World-famous tennis player Rafael Nadal got hitched this weekend and his bride followed what seems to be the latest trend among the rich and royal: She wore two wedding dresses.

The sport star’s girlfriend of 14 years, Mery Perello, looked absolutely gorgeous in a long sleeved gown designed by Rosa Clara for their ceremony. Her second dress (by the same designer), supposedly worn to the reception, strongly resembles the halter neck worn by the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle to her own reception.

The couple was married on the Spanish island of Majorca this past weekend. As well as images of the first wedding dress, a sketch of the second dress was released. The first dress had an intricate lace bodice, and Clara described to Hello! that is was “made of beautiful Art Deco-inspired French lace with delicate patterning, flower motifs and microbeading on the meticulously hand-embroidered fabric. The ballgown-style skirt, made of silk crepe, featured a weightless detachable train.”

The second dress was just as elegant but more form-fitting and had an open back. It also featured embellishments all over, giving a sultry, glamorous look.

    The second dress.

The wedding venue was no less exquisite than the dresses, being held at a 17th-century fortress known as La Fortaleza. Surrounded by ocean views, it served as both the ceremony and reception venue. It’s obviously perfect for pictures, and we can’t wait until the official photos are released.
