The late Princess Diana’s niece, Lady Kitty Spencer, has recently become engaged to South African-born chairperson of Foschini Ltd, Michael Lewis. Lewis is also the founder of the Israeli biotech company ProChon Biotech Limited. Lewis, aged 61, has three children and Spencer, 29, will be his second wife.

The businessman is estimated to be worth a whopping £80 million, but trusted sources say the pair are deeply in love and his wealth has nothing to do with the engagement. “Michael proposed to Kitty before Christmas,” a source told IOL. “She’s been in Cape Town for the holidays and told her mother and the rest of the family. Michael is loved by all of them. Despite his wealth, he’s very humble and low key.”

Lady Spencer is a model and works with the world’s top fashion houses. In 2018, the cousin of Princes Harry and William was a featured model in Dolce & Gabbana’s Venetian spring/summer print campaign and walked in Dolce & Gabbana’s Secrets & Diamonds fashion show during 2018 Milan Fashion Week.

Having a farm wedding is a far cry from a glamorous suburban wedding in the city but we strongly believe all that glitters isn’t gold. Farm weddings aren’t just for “low budgets” and they don’t have to be boring. If you love the outdoors, getting away from the rush of everyday life and want to get back to your roots, a farm wedding is the perfect escape. In fact, it can be more beautiful and brilliant than any 5-star hotel wedding if you do it right. Here’s how.

Let your decor complement the environment
When choosing the decor and colour scheme, don’t go too far off with wild colours that don’t suit the style of the wedding. Remember, the environment already sets a certain tone and your decor should rather enhance it than try to overthrow it. Fall in step with the rhythm of the farm, whether it’s a wine farm, citrus farm, live stock, grain etc.

    Allow nature to flourish
If there is abundant plant life or animals, don’t try to get rid of it, rather make the most of it! Vineyards, sunflower fields or sheep enclosures are all part of the surroundings and will add to the atmosphere.

    Choose a like-minded photographer
It’s important to hire a photographer who appreciates the surroundings and gets the feel you want to convey. This will affect the lighting they use, the area they take the pictures in and what parts of the farm they choose to incorporate.

    Set an appropriate dress code
As important as it is to merge the decor with the environment, it’s equally important to have the attire fit in too. Since you already chose the farm venue, your choice of dress will probably suit the surroundings well. Keep to neutral tones, rustic chic accessories and nature-inspired extras. It might be wise to add a dress code for guests too, to keep with the theme. Depending on your chosen feel, use words like “natural,” or “outback”. Avoid terms like “cowboy” (unless that’s what you want!) to ensure the guests look as sophisticated as you.

Younger actress Hilary Duff, who recently tied the knot to Matthew Koma, shared some adorable pictures of their honeymoon in South Africa. After an intimate wedding ceremony, the pair took flight to the Kruger National Park and seem to be having a blast on their safari outings.

“Honeymooning with my honey. Already seen the big 5 and had so many naps. Doesn’t get better than this….,” Duff posted on her Instagram.

You’ve got your perfect gown, shoes and accessories. But what about your bridesmaids? Not only do you want them to look and feel good, you want them to make you look good. Believe it or not, the bridal party’s outfits can make or break your wedding pictures. Besides, this is the one time you get to tell everyone what to wear!

Now, apart from your wedding theme, the season and climate greatly affects the attire. If you’re having a summer wedding, opt for these cool ideas.

Soft, airy materials is the way to go. Florals are in (as always), but so are tiered dresses and even different colours and designs. The keyword here is fun!

Many have deemed high heels a must with formal wear. We say no. There are a plethora of reasons why women might not want to wear heels to their wedding, but our favourite one is simply: They don’t have to!

If you have feet, leg or back problems, wearing sky-high shoes will not end well. In fact, even if you don’t have any orthopedic issues, everyone knows your feet will probably kill you even before the reception begins! Other factors might include tall brides who are not comfortable with extra height, not being used to them and risking a fall or maybe you just don’t like the way they look. No worries, we have the perfect flat shoes that will make any stiletto jealous.

The precious couple that got adopted by the nation, Nonhlanhla Soldaat and Hector Mkansi, finally had their dream wedding on December 31, 2019. After Hector was filmed presenting Nonhlanhla with a ring in a Gauteng KFC, the two went viral and their story became a homegrown legend.

The much-anticipated wedding took place on New Year’s eve as any celebration should. Laced with fairy lights, the venue was absolutely breathtaking and the white, champagne and rose gold colour scheme was magical.

Nonhlanhla’s pearl white dress was elegant, with a portrait neckline and no sleeves, which accentuated her figure perfectly. A small, understated bow on her waist tied the look together. She opted for a veil embroidered with lace and a stylish up-do with small white roses in her bun.

Her bouquet, like the flowers used in the ceremony and reception were all light peach and white roses, adding to the fresh-meet-glamorous feel of the day.

Hector was not to be overlooked either, wearing a very modern champagne coloured blazer and black bow-tie.

The two beamed and looked more in love than ever. You would never even guess that they’ve been married all along, and this was their second wedding! We wish them happiness and love.

The country’s favourite couple, Nonhlanhla Soldaat and Hector Mkansi are tying the knot on New Year’s eve!

After a whirlwind of public participation including the search for the ‘KFC couple’ and then the masses offering to contribute towards their wedding, the big day is finally here.

While we are sitting on the edge of our seats to see the dress, here’s what we know so far.

Nonhlanhla’s dress cost over R30 000, the designer/supplier is still anonymous at this time. “I want my wife to feel like a queen because she is my queen, even her dress will show that,” was all Hector was willing to reveal.

The wedding theme is royal, with gold and champagne as the main colours. Royal weddings are notoriously lavish and over the top, so we’re excited to see what the decor looks like. We’re sure the couple will have the finest of everything, from the flowers down to cutlery fit for a king and queen.

The venue is unknown for privacy reasons, but we do know there will be 250 guests. At first, the Johannesburg couple had their hopes up to get the FNB stadium so that they could invite the whole country, but it was not to be.

“There were so many people who requested to attend the wedding and we also had it in our hearts. Unfortunately, we were told that the stadium is already booked for the date so we had to find a different venue,” Hector told W24.

The couple was initially offered numerous luxurious honeymoon destinations by resorts all over the country, but rumour has it they will hop on a flight for an international honeymoon in the US.  When they return, they plan to do a province-to-province tour so they can meet and thank all their supporters all across SA.

The couple is eternally grateful to everyone who is helping to make their dream wedding come true. “I was just showing my wife how much I love and appreciate her and now she will get a wedding she never dreamed she would be having,” Hector said.

We wish them love and happiness!

Two best friends from the US, David Dobrik and Jason Nash are self-proclaimed pranksters and are always out to get one another. So, when Nash teased social media influencer Dobrik saying no one will ever marry him, Dobrik set out to prove him wrong. By marrying Nash’s mother!

Dobrik (22) filmed the whole episode and explained to Lorraine Nash (74) that it was all a joke. She didn’t hesitate to jump in and play along.

Dobrik took to Twitter saying “My friend told me I would never find love and get married. So I flew to his moms house and married her on the spot. Now that same friend is my stepson. True love always wins”

After leaving Jason and the rest of his family thoroughly stunned with the Las Vegas wedding and Hawaii honeymoon, the pair called it off a month later and filed for divorce.

Dobrik seems to have hit two birds with one stone, as he not only pranked his friend but also already got 10 million views on Youtube.

The thing about a marriage is that it’s a big deal. You’re making a lifelong commitment to another person, and choosing to share everything you have forever. That is bound to intimidate even the most courageous of people and once the excitement of the new engagement is over, doubt might settle in. If you start to notice a change in your partner’s behaviour in the days leading up to the wedding, it’s easy to panic or think their feelings for you have changed. Guess what, feeling unsure before the big day is normal! But fret not, it doesn’t mean it’s all over. Here’s what to do when you see the signs:

    Don’t make assumptions

Actually, this counts for all relationships in life. Never assume you know something if it hasn’t been explicitly communicated. You might read too much into insignificant situations, or you might just have caught the tail end of a story. Also remember that nerves are not the same as cold feet, so don’t confuse anticipation with your partner bailing on you. It’s a big day for you both.

    Don’t confront them immediately

Sometimes, the first reaction to detecting behavioural change is to go to the person and ask what’s bothering them. This is usually not a good idea, as it could imply mistrust, or it could simply be something minor that will blow over. If, like we mentioned before, it’s just nerves or other stress, confrontation might feel like an attack when in fact they need support. First give them two or three weeks to process what they need to. However, don’t leave it too long, either! If, for some reason there is a change in feelings on either side, it would be better to work it out sooner rather than later.

    Have a relaxed sit down

So, you’ve given them time and nothing has changed? If you’re still worried and your partner hasn’t confided in you yet, there might be something worth discussing before you tie the knot. Remember, the end goal is not to generate conflict, pass blame or accuse them of anything. The aim here is open communication and making the best decision for you both. Ask them to set some time aside for a coffee or beer, and calmly ask them what’s been on their mind lately. If you still don’t get a response, state the reasons you have for your concerns, and make it clear that you are open to listen, even if it might not be what you want to hear.

    Give them time

After the conversation, both should know exactly how the other one feels. But no hasty decision has ever benefited anyone, so don’t run off and do something crazy. If they are just feeling insecure and need some time to make extra sure, be mature enough to give them that time.  If they have firmly decided that, sadly, they have changed their mind for real, still allow some time to pass before calling off the wedding and making things public. Remember, this is a difficult topic and should be handled sensitively.

    Make peace with the outcome

After you’ve been through the process, we hope that all remains well and your partner just needed to blow off some steam. Hopefully you’re both reassured of your desires to be together and are now even more excited than ever! If, however, things take a turn for the worse and either or both of you decide not to go ahead, you will have to slowly make your peace with it. If it was your partner’s decision, there’s really nothing you can do. Remember, it might hurt now, but a divorce later on will be devastating. Surround yourself with a support system and give yourself time to heal.
