Where Your Winelands Wedding Story Begins

At Rhebokskloof Estate, couples can choose from vineyards, mountain views, weeping willows, and beautiful spaces to create a wedding that truly feels like their own.

Some places you simply visit, while others feel like they could become part of your own story.

Rhebokskloof Estate sits among vineyards and protea fields on the northern slopes of Paarl Mountain, offering a beautiful setting for weddings in the Cape Winelands. With indoor and outdoor spaces, your day can flow smoothly from ceremony to celebration while keeping that special sense of place.

Whether you want a small, intimate gathering or a bigger celebration with family and friends, Rhebokskloof gives you the flexibility to create a wedding that reflects who you are as a couple.

Find the setting for your “I do”

One of the estate’s greatest strengths is the variety of spaces available for different parts of the wedding day.

Outdoor ceremonies can take place at Hillside or Lakeside, allowing couples to exchange vows surrounded by the natural landscape of the estate. Lakeside, with its expansive lawn and magnificent weeping willows, creates an especially romantic backdrop for an outdoor ceremony.

Once the vows have been exchanged, guests can gather on The Lawn or The White Terrace for drinks and conversation while the newlyweds head off for photographs.

The celebration can then move to one of Rhebokskloof’s reception spaces. Each has its own atmosphere, allowing couples to choose a setting that suits the style and scale of their wedding.

It also means a wedding at Rhebokskloof can take on a different character with the seasons. Long summer afternoons lend themselves to celebrations spilling onto the lawns, while the estate’s indoor spaces offer warmth and atmosphere during cooler months.

    Food, wine and Winelands hospitality

A wedding in the Cape Winelands would not be complete without good food and wine, and both form an important part of the Rhebokskloof experience.

The estate manages its wedding catering and wine, allowing these elements to become a cohesive part of the celebration rather than something couples must coordinate separately. Couples can also arrange a pre-booked menu tasting with the Banqueting Manager before the wedding.

From post-ceremony drinks and canapés to sitting down for dinner with the people who matter most, the food and wine experience is woven naturally into the rhythm of the day.

The details that make the day easier

A beautiful venue is only one part of planning a wedding. How smoothly everything comes together matters equally.

Rhebokskloof’s wedding team can assist couples throughout planning, including recommending trusted suppliers and sourcing additional décor elements when needed. The estate also has wet-weather alternatives for outdoor ceremonies, offering peace of mind when planning in advance.

Practical considerations include secure on-site parking, 24-hour security, and accessible facilities for guests with limited mobility. While accommodation is not available on the estate, the team can recommend nearby options for couples and their guests.

    A setting made for photographs

    Then there is the landscape.

Vineyards, lawns, mountain scenery, the lake and the architecture of the estate create a variety of backdrops without couples having to leave Rhebokskloof in search of photographs.

For an even more dramatic perspective, couples can make their way to Flatrock Lookout, which is accessible by 4×4 vehicle and offers an elevated setting for wedding portraits.

As the light begins to soften across the estate and guests move from afternoon drinks into the evening celebration, each part of the wedding can have its own atmosphere while still feeling connected.

Perhaps that is what makes Rhebokskloof particularly special as a wedding venue. It is not simply a room in which to host a reception. It is a place where the whole day can unfold.

The ceremony beneath the trees. A glass raised after the vows. Photographs among the vineyards. Dinner with your favourite people. The first dance, and the celebration that follows.

And the best way to know whether it feels like your place is to see it for yourself.

Book a venue viewing and enjoy a complimentary glass of bubbles on arrival.

There is something undeniably magical about walking into a space where every detail has been thoughtfully curated around one of life’s biggest celebrations. From the moment I arrived at the Lourensford Bridal Showcase at Lourensford Wine Estate on 1 August, it was clear that this wasn’t just another wedding expo. It was an immersive experience designed to inspire couples as they begin planning their journey to “I do.”

A warm welcome at Lourensford Wine Estate

The beautiful Cape Winelands setting provided the perfect backdrop for the day. As I entered the venue, an incredibly friendly team welcomed me. They immediately set the tone for the day. Guests received beautifully prepared goodie bags before collecting a welcome drink and enjoying the light bites on offer. Even the smallest interactions reflected genuine hospitality. At one point, with my hands full of brochures, samples and my camera, one of the staff members kindly stepped in to help without hesitation. It was a simple gesture, but one that perfectly captured the warmth of the day.

    Bridal fashion takes centre stage

The showcase officially began with a bridal fashion show by Fender Bridal, accompanied by the enchanting sounds of live violin music performed by Donné Violinist. The combination was nothing short of magical.

Fender Bridal presented a collection for every type of bride. The runway featured timeless classics alongside modern silhouettes with hints of old-world luxury. Every gown felt elegant, sophisticated and wearable. Whether you’re envisioning sleek contemporary styling, romantic lace, structured silhouettes or flowing fabrics, the collection demonstrated that today’s brides truly have endless options.

Adding another layer of romance was Donné Violinist, whose live performance transformed the fashion show into an unforgettable experience. The music created an atmosphere that felt whimsical, intimate and effortlessly elegant, proving just how much live entertainment can elevate a wedding celebration.

Once the runway concluded, guests were encouraged to explore the various exhibitors before gathering for an educational wedding planning workshop. This gave everyone the opportunity to chat directly with suppliers, ask questions and discover services tailored to every stage of wedding planning.

    Cake, conversations and wedding inspiration

One of my favourite stops was The Cake Patisserie Studio. Their tasting station quickly became a crowd favourite, offering guests a selection of beautifully crafted cupcakes in various flavours. I sampled both the chocolate fudge and carrot cupcakes, and both were incredibly moist, flavourful and beautifully balanced. Safe to say my cake craving had officially been satisfied for the day.

The workshop itself was informative, practical and engaging. Rather than overwhelming couples with endless inspiration, the speakers focused on the realities of planning a successful wedding while still creating an unforgettable experience.

    Expert advice for every couple

The first presentation came from Trunk Events. The founder effortlessly blended professionalism with warmth and humour while discussing one of the biggest aspects of wedding planning: the budget. She explained why establishing a realistic budget should always be the starting point and highlighted the value that an experienced wedding planner brings, helping couples manage timelines, suppliers and unexpected challenges so they can fully enjoy their wedding day.

Galilee Image Consultant followed with valuable advice on personal styling. From choosing colour palettes and bridal party attire to selecting hairstyles and makeup looks, the session centred around one important message: your wedding should still feel like you. Rather than chasing trends, couples were encouraged to embrace styles that reflect their personalities and make them feel confident and comfortable.

Beyond the workshop, the showcase brought together an impressive collection of local wedding professionals, each offering something unique.

If this year’s showcase is anything to go by, next year’s event is already worth looking forward to.

The indoor setup means the event goes ahead rain or shine, while the lush surroundings offer a serene backdrop for couples already dreaming of vineyard weddings.

Local couples often use the fair as both a planning tool and a day out with family or friends. “We went last year and found our photographer and venue in one go,” shared a Cape Town bride on Instagram. Others love the chance to meet vendors face-to-face — a rarity in today’s online-driven world.
