Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Tebow and her husband Tim Tebow have us green with envy as they took to socials to share their recent trip to the Turks and Caicos Islands in the United Kingdom where they enjoyed some downtime.

Demi-Leigh shared a stunning clip and photos of the pair on her Instagram, revealing that it’s the first time she and Tim had gone on holiday alone since their lavish wedding in South African back in 2020.

“Our first time away by ourselves since our wedding. No other couples, friends, colleagues, no noise. Just us. Great food, views, & a whole lot of pickle ball. The best few days,” wrote Demi-Leigh in an Instagram post.

Everyone remembers April 29, 2011, the day that people across the world were fixated on their screens for the highly anticipated Royal wedding. Kate Middleton, a non-royal, was marrying Prince William. Some were waiting to see the decor and others, the guests. However, the wedding dress was the true show stopper of the day.

Many wondered who will have the honour of designing Kate’s dress. Sarah Burton, a famed designer for Alexander McQueen, was given the momentous task.

Kate chose to combine tradition and modernity on her dress, fitting for a princess. The dress was made out of ivory satin on the waist and hips. The waist also had a corset that shaped the dress.

The lace appliqué for the bodice and skirt was hand-made by the Royal School of Needlework, based at Hampton Court Palace.

    Interesting facts

The train of the dress was almost three metres long (2.7m).

The embroiderers had to wash their hands every 30 minutes to avoid dirtying the gown.

Individual flowers were hand-cut from lace and hand-engineered onto ivory silk tulle to create a design which incorporates the rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrock.

The inspiration behind the skirt was that it opens like a blossoming flower

There were 58 buttons down the back of the dress

The rise of the buddymoon (instead of a honeymoon) has taken the world by storm. It has quickly become a popular trend, particularly with younger couples.

Those couples who have already lived together for a while don’t feel the need for a honeymoon either. In the years gone by, honeymoons were important because it generally was the first time couples would get to be alone together. Today, this is not really the case so couples have become creative with celebrating.

The result of this creativity is buddymoons. Celebrities have joined in on the fun too. Alicia Keys and Swizz Beats brought some extra company along for their honeymoon, and so did Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert.

Here are 5 other celebrity couples who have had buddymoons:

    Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux

The Friends actress, Aniston, and hubby Theroux had quite a star-studded buddymoon. The former lovebirds were accompanied by Courtney Cox, Chelsea Handler, Jason Bateman, Jimmy Kimmel and Tobey Maguire at the Four Seasons in Bora Bora.

About the Buddymoon, Theroux said, “We had thought about it; we could just do a normal honeymoon or we could go with friends, keep the party going, relax and have fun.” Speaking to Extra, he said “It was a fantastic honeymoon. It was really special, it was really beautiful.”

After their wedding in Capri the couple continued the festivities on a smaller yacht. Their honeymoon was a week long and they ensured their family and friends were by their sides.

After a stunning and sophisticated Franschhoek wedding, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters and Tim Tebow are unwinding with a relaxing honeymoon in the Maldives.

The pair seem to be really enjoying married life, and are sharing images from their romantic getaway with their followers. They are staying at the Soneva Jani hotel in the Maldives, taking in the beautiful views and stunning sunsets.

“Here’s to endless sunsets with you ❤️,” the former Miss Universe captions an image of the two as she kisses him on the cheek.

World-famous Italian tenor is known for his beautiful vocals and distinctive voice, and recently collaborated with pop singer Ellie Goulding to sing a breathtaking song called Return to Love. He dedicated a Christmas version of this song to his wife, and it will leave you in tears.

Bocelli was diagnosed with congenital glaucoma after a football accident, and went completely blind at the age of 12. Since he first launched his career in 1982, he has recorded 15 solo albums, along with three greatest hit albums and nine complete operas.

Bocelli has said that his success would be nothing without the support of his beautiful wife Veronica. He arranged this beautiful surprise to thank her for all her love and support throughout the years, and blindfolded Veronica before leading her into their house. When her blindfold was removed, she discovered her husband at the piano, along with a gospel choir to serenade her.

Former SA cricket captain Graeme Smith got married on Saturday to lawyer Romy Lanfranchi, the same day the Springboks beat England in the Rugby World Cup final.  Early on Saturday, though, Graeme apparently made it clear that the Bokke formed a big part of the couple’s excitement on their magic big day.

According to YOU, the couple had a little boy together in 2016 and got engaged in 2018. They each have two children from previous marriages as well.

The two got hitched at the luxurious Beloftebos Wedding Venue outside of Cape Town. Both looked glorious, with Romy wearing a strapless mermaid dress and Graeme a black suit and faded pink tie. In all their pictures, the family of 7 are smiling and laughing lovingly.

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are luxuriating in the Maldives for their honeymoon after their second wedding. The couple were first wed in an impromptu Vegas-style ceremony on May 1 2019, the same day as the Billboard Music Awards. They made a little elopement to a chapel, and the ceremony was officiated by an Elvis Presley impersonator.

On June 29, the two had another wedding – this time planned and a little more conventional – and tied the knot again, in front of family and friends. The romantic ceremony was held in a picturesque chateau in the south of France. Sophie wore a beautiful Nicholas Ghesquière wedding gown from Louis Vuitton. The beautiful silk and lace dress included an open back, traditional veil, plunge line neck and lace sleeves. Joe opted for a Berluti, black tuxedo designed by Kris Van Assche.

The details are kept to a minimum though, as Sophie stated that she wanted to keep things private.

After a wedding for the books, of course, comes the intimate honeymoon. The (kind-of) newlyweds are enjoying their honeymoon at one of the Soneva Fushi beachfront villas on Kunfunadhoo Island.

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of freedom from the open road – and there’s no one better to do it with than your new spouse. Just married, bound to adventure with great tunes and blissful conversation, we can’t think of anything better. If you’re choosing to take a roadtrip for your honeymoon, keep these few things in mind.

Avoid break downs and break outs

Before you embark, make sure your car is serviced – especially filters, fluid levels, and belts, and of course the oil and water. Check your tire pressure and the condition of your wiper blades, turn signals, brake lights, and high and low beams. Examine your tire treads and make sure your car is prepared for any kind of weather. Importantly, recharge the air conditioner – you don’t want the African sun to get the better of your trip.

    Clean up, stock up

There’s no better way to start the journey than in a fresh, newly cleaned car. Have a fun car wash together before you leave. Stock up on padkos and lots of water, bearing in mind that it’ll be cheaper to buy from a grocery store than at convenience stops. Pile in blankets and pillows in case one of you needs to get some shut eye. Finally,  pack an emergency kit, including a battery-powered radio and extra batteries, flashlight, jumper cables, first aid kit, spare tire, tire repair kit and pump, and flares. TIA after all.

    If you’re renting

If you are renting, agencies like Hertz, Avis, Budget and Thrifty have lots of locations. Look out for rental deals (often in conjunction with booking a hotel and flight).

If you need to rent a car abroad, you’ll need to get an international driving permit (IDP) at your local AA. Click here to apply for your IDP. If you’re renting a car overseas, keep in mind that most models come with a manual transmission. If you’re used to automatic, call and book an automatic well in advance and be prepared to pay more. If you book online, print out a copy of your confirmation number and all the particulars.

    Are We There Yet?

Planning for the time spent in the car together can be just as important as packing your essentials. The last thing you want is to ruin your romantic adventure with road trip boredom, so prepare some on-road entertainment. Include games and music, or even a few audio books. If you find yourself in a lull during your journey, here are some highway hints to keep the long drive interesting.

    1. Car games They’re not just for kids! No road trip is complete without a round of ‘I spy’ or ‘the license plate game.’
    2. Story time Instead of curling up in a corner and reading to yourself, share the story  and read aloud.
    3. Create an on-the-road scrapbook Take pictures of the funny sites you see from the car window.
    4. Tunes for the trail If you’re addicted to your iPod, buy an FM transmitter to play your collection through your car radio. The Griffins iTrip will ensure you won’t be without your favorite tunes.
